3UNIFIED COUNCIL

Message

Guru-Shishya Parampara from the time of Vedic Sanskruti has many things to

teach us about the talent search as well as tradition of teaching, learning packaged

with value based learning.

As the time passed the inevitable changes took place and methods of learning

and teaching got modernized. The basic and fundamental learning process both at

home and in school became mechanized. The time has come where one has to step

and think "where are we heading to?". At this juncture "UNIFIED COUNCIL" has initiated

a pathbreaking exercise for students of science and mathematics.

I convey my best wishes to the talent pool and for souvenir to be published on

the occasion of "felicitation ceremony" being organized on May 6th, 2012 at Ravindra

Bharti, Hyderabad.

11UNIFIED COUNCIL

To be a leader in providing professional

service in testing & assessment , our goal must be

achieved in accordance with our philosophy. We

believe everything we do must be based on :

■ Strengthening fundamental principles.

■ Development, growth, involvement and

recognition of students' achievements.

■ Quality services to students, Parents,

Institutions and Schools.

We believe in Mind over matter !

Aristotle was asked how much the educated

were superior to the uneducated and he said, "as

much as the living are to the dead". That is the

significance of education, which leads us from

darkness to light. In this world, everything has its

distinct quality like flowers are imbibed with

fragrance, fruits with flavour and a candle

for its quality of spreading light. In the same way,

man is also endowed with some inherent and innate

powers, which can be exposed through education.

Education must make our people wise and

equipped to understand and solve the problems of

the world.

That calls for conceptual clarity and depth of

knowledge.

Today, one can observe a disturbing trend

among students. They answer questions without

seeking to understand them. They rarely seek

clarifications or admit ignorance.

Correcting this state of affairs doesn't need huge

investments, it needs a new approach. We must use

imagination while setting examination papers,

including questions which provoke students and

force them to think. We must move from what to

why, when to how.

In short, the need of the hour is to shift from

remembering to understanding, accepting to

The raison d'etre - to unearth the

hidden talent in the younger

generation, making them

fundamentally stronger and more

competitive. Thus paving the way

for a prosperous nation, for the

future lies in the hands of the

younger generation.

questioning and reading to reflecting. Students need

to understand basic concepts, but they also need to

think, reflect and enquire. Unified Council's

programmes are designed to achieve the same.

Unified Council provides educational

programmes, services and environment that enable

students to realise their personal potential for higher

achievement through strongly grounded

fundamentals.

The Council eminently concentrates upon

training young minds through numerous challenging

programmes designed to allow students to take ideas

from concept to completion.

The common denominator among this wide

range of programmes, is an understanding of the

fundamentals of education and the attention and

reception of applied tools. The Council offers an array

of structured programmes, each of which emphasize

the principles and aspects of strong fundamentals

while educating new and easy learning techniques.

Unified Council is committed to the right to

'quality education'. It has a widespread network of

dedicated work force geared to reach to students all

across the country. The objective being - if there is a

student, Unified Council must reach out to him,

Unified Council advocates the cause of quality

education through integrity and social responsibility.

After much debate and discussions, the

educational experts at unified council design and

developed various educational programmes to

strengthen students' skills and cultivate their talents

to meet the needs of changing educational trends.

These educational professionals, marked by technical

excellence and originality, bring the best practices of

their professions into unified council and broaden

its intellectual reserve and vast pool of skills.

We are offering following tests for classes 2 to 12.

National Level Science Talent Search Examination

Unified Cyber Olympiad

State Level Science Talent Search Examination (A.P.)

We incorporate the latest findings from the

research studies on educational assessment,

formative assessment techniques, etc. to equip the

younger generation for future needs.

The only institution of its kind in the country,

Unified Council is respected and appreciated for its

comprehensive study capsule guides, SUCCESS SERIES

BOOKS, which it provides free to all students taking

the NSTSE & SLSTSE programmes. These books have

been conceived after much retrospection on students

requirements.

SUCCESS SERIES BOOKS (Passport to Knowledge Republic -

II, III, IV & V, Success Plan Jr., Success Plan, Success Plan Plus,

Success Wizard, Success Senior, Success Unlimited, Blue Print)

help students to leverage their academic performance

and equip them with various psychological tools to

face the reality of the future. These books comprise

of numerous study techniques such as :

❙ Effective Learning Techniques.

❙ How to Remember in a Better Way.

❙ Effective Revision approach.

❙ Mind Mapping Technique.

❙ Mnemonics.

❙ Faster and Efficient Reading Techniques.

❙ Mnemonics, both Peg & Link Methods of memory.

❙ Relaxation Techniques i.e., Alpha Breathing Technique

& Progressive Relaxation Technique.

A determined team comprising of

educational professionals who formulate the

question papers, coordinators who reach numerous

schools with resolution and an efficient administrative

staff is our unique strength. The team's constant

efforts and systematic planning has helped to reach

out to schools and study centres all over the country,

wherein this year over 3,75,000 students have taken

the NSTSE - 2012, over 95,000 students have taken

the UCO - 2011 and over 75,000 have taken the

SLSTSE (A.P.)- 2012. Over the years, there has been a

constant rise in participation as well as the

performance of students in the Unified Council's

programmes.

The Council makes use of ultra modern

technology such as Optical Mark Recognition (OMR)

equipment to evaluate the answer papers for

proficiently assessing students' performance.

In order to better understand one's

performance, Unified Council has been preparing

comprehensive statistical reports such as the

Individual School Report (ISR), which distinguishes

the subject wise performance of a school in relation

to the overall performance of other schools nation

wide, the General School Report (GSR) that provides

class wise response for all questions, summary reports,

students response to difficult questions in the form

of Ogive graphs and Histogram and the Student's

Performance Report (SPR) which gives individual

student's response for each and every question and

his performance in relation to the other participants.

All these reports are helpful for schools as

well as students to better understand and assess their

responses, thereby making know of their strong and

weak areas. This exercise of ours has been greatly

appreciated and thanked for, thus making our

endeavour meaningful and satisfying.

These reports are first of Its kind in India,

setting global standards in

educational services.

COMMENTS

These exams are a launch pad for the students enabling them

to prepare for future competitions and making them aware of the

evolving technicalities in the examination system. Students are

learning to evaluate their scientific skills and the importance of

applied knowledge. Unified Council is doing a tremendous job. All

the best for your future endeavors.

Mrs.SAROJ GUPTA, SOMERVILLE SCHOOL, GREATER NOIDA

The question paper was designed well as per the aptitude of

the children and the examination has been conducted smoothly and successfully. The standard of the

question paper was very good and we hope to conduct this examination in future as it helps the students to

get prepared for their regular exams and also to enrich their knowledge in science.

MS.NIDHI SHARMA, RYAN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, GHAZIABAD

I congratulate and thank unified council for organizing the NSTSE for school students which will really

help the students in attempting the competitive exams in future. The questions were thought provoking

and mostly up to the level of students of each class.

MRS.SHOBHANA ANTONY, CARMEL CONVENT SCHOOL, BANGALORE

National Level Science talent search Examination is one of the best examinations for the student for

self evaluation of the subject matter. It helps the students to prepare for other competitive examination

like AIEEE, AIPMT etc. It also helps us for giving co-scholastic indicators for the students in scientific

skill related with CCE.

MR.LAISHRAM ARUNJIT MEETEI, JAWAHAR NAVODAYA VIDYALAYA, MANIPUR

Unified Council exhibits an excellent professional approach in conducting talent exams and stands

top amidst other talent examinations. I appreciate your commitment in moulding young talents through

their intellectual competency.

MRS.RAHMABI A.P., YARA INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, RIYADH

The cyber tactics books were extremely good from the point of view of the students. The examina-

tion paper was also challenging and up to the mark. The communication procedure is simply superb.

We are informed from time to time about the various procedures. The examination procedure is also

very simple and all the instructions given are so clear that it leaves no room for any doubts. Keep up

the good work.

MRS.AMITA R SHETTY, ST THERESA CONVENT HIGH SCHOOL, THANE

Unified Council is helping the students to nourish their brains for a bright and enterprising future. We

are very glad to be the part of such examination. UCO is very helpful in strengthening the knowledge

in computer logical reasoning and mental ability.

MR.SHIV RAM ARORA, VARUN PUBLIC SEN SEC SCHOOL, JODHPUR

The scientifically designed skill based assessment test really improves the mental ability and the

fundamentals the student has actually understood. On the other hand it also improves the computer

knowledge, general knowledge and thinking capacity of a child to work out the assessments. Talent

search exam conducted BY Unified Council is really a measure to find how much a child knows or

understands a concept.

MS.CHRISTY FRANKLIN, L E F CHRISTIAN MATRICULATION SCHOOL, COIMBATORE,

Its a very appreciable and encouraging effort on the part of Unified Council to conduct such programmes

where the students can get the opportunity to assess themselves and discover their standards.

We shall always be a part of this endeavor and feel honored to participate in such exams.

Mr. RAMINDER KAUR, REV FR WALJER SALBANHA, SHAHJAHANPUR

Cyber tactics books prepare our students for the changing atmosphere of the future. These books are

providing a good platform to attempt any kind of competitive exams in mental ability and reasoning skills.

Our students are engrossed in reading and solving the paper which proves the standard of the examination

papers. The communication procedure and exam procedure was easy to conduct this exam smoothly.
