On Tuesday the A/Deputy Secretary, School Performance – North, Cathy Brennan joined myself, Mr Dan Zacek and Mrs Mel McGrath via zoom, to discuss the outstanding results our school has been achieving. Mrs Brennan initiated the meeting by commenting on the excellent reputation our school has at state level. We discussed the many facets of our school operation and initiatives we have implemented to ensure all of our students have the opportunity to reach their full potential. Our school is viewed very highly and Mrs Brennan is very keen for us to be a model of excellence for other schools to follow. Congratulations to our whole school community on this fabulous recognition of our high achieving school.

Congratulations to all our Stage 2 and Stage 3 students who received their silver or gold badge at yesterday’s special assemblies held in our Primary Hall. We are very proud of these students and they also received a silver or gold certificate, bumper sticker, individual photo and enjoyed a delicious morning tea. Thank you to Mrs Kylie Ryan and Miss Taylor Barnes for organising these assemblies and Mrs Lyn Cassematis for providing morning tea. Our final two badge assemblies will be held in Week 9.

Congratulations to our Kinders for 2021 who visited our Kindergarten classrooms on Tuesday. Congratulations to the 31, Year 5 students who presented a prefect speech as part of our Student Leadership Assembly last Friday. Our school highly values student leadership and we were very impressed with the quality of all of the speeches. Students in Stage 2 and Stage 3 had the opportunity to vote. The prefects chosen for 2021 will be announced at the Stage 3 Presentation Day Assembly. Our thanks to Mr Zacek for organising this special assembly.

Christmas CarolsOur school will be also holding our annual Christmas Carols on Wednesday 2nd December during school hours. Unfortunately due to guidelines parents will not be able to attend. Students will have the option to wear Christmas colours and we will be holding a Performing Arts Concert. Class performances will be restricted but all our students will enjoy a fabulous day participating in a wide range of Christmas activities. The concert will be held on our Infants Campus. Thanks to Mr Tapp for organising this activity for our school.

Our Pallet Christmas Tree is on display in Shoppingworld near the Sushi Shop. Please visit the display and vote for our entry using your mobile phone. It looks amazing! Thank you to everyone involved.

Again this year our school will be offering our 2020 Highlights magazine. A note has been forwarded home last week and if you wish to purchase a copy please return note and money by Thursday 3rd December. The cost of the magazine is $15. Congratulations to our staff who have all contributed to make this a fantastic snapshot of this year.

A reminder their is no supervision at school before 8.30am. We have noticed especially at the Infants Campus we have a large number of students arriving before this time. This is a concern. We are aware their are some early buses but wherever possible please ensure your children are not at school before 8.30am. Thanks for your assistance.Have a great week.Mr Peter Hickey - Principal

Marvellous Maths with Mrs McGrath The Zero HeroYear 1 and 2 have been exploring the power of zero in our number system. They read a text called “A Place for Zero” to initiate a discussion about the purpose of zero. Students explored numbers like 508 and 1020 to convince others to use a zero and then to explain the importance of it in our number system. Here are some proud 1/2KW students and their Zero Hero.
