Dear Diary,
It is day 54 of lockdown ( I think). All the days seem to blur into one. Thankfully, I am well and healthy so will not complain! Life feels so different; in good and bad ways. For instance, I’ve been spending more time with my family which has been amazing but then I can’t go outside and play with my friends. All I want to do is kick a football- it’s sad really. Plus it takes mum about three hours just to go shopping.
Today, the queue outside Tesco went all around the car park which meant we he had to queue up for ages! Everyone’s wearing face masks too so you can’t recognise anyone. I walked straight passed my uncle in the milk aisle of Tesco. It was only when he said my mum’s name that I recognised who it was—it’s a crazy world right now. I couldn’t hug him like normal and I felt really sad about this. Families are meant to be hugged. I really hope this virus ends soon as you realise what’s more important right now: family and health.
I don’t find it hard when I constantly have to wash and cream my hands whilst singing Happy Birthday twice. The most hardest part is not going to school to play with my friends and socialise with them. I miss messing around behind the teacher’s back, the sound of friends laughing at my jokes or sitting around the lunch tables eating with pals. I can’t wait until I can see them again and carry on learning at school. I enjoy learning online but it’s not the same learning by yourself.
The first thing I will do when lockdown is over is play football outside with my friends and eat Nandos. I’m also looking forward to getting ready for Year 7 where I will meet new friends and become used to my new school. Anyway, better go. Mum’s calling me to get ready for dinner.
