Why It Matters

Obesity and being overweight are mostly preventable issues. It is also a leading cause of an early grave. Weight loss is accomplished through dietary and activity changes. It is recommended that adults get 150 minutes of moderate physical activity per week. That’s only about 20 minutes per day. It could include bicycling, speed walking or any activity that gets the heart pumping.

Take Care of Yourself

We only get one body. It is important to honor it by giving it healthy fuel. That is not to say that sweet treats can’t be enjoyed. Treats are encouraged, just not as a daily occurrence. It’s important to eat regular portions, eat slow enough for your body to process and sway out unhealthy choices for some healthier and more beneficial options. Eating healthy doesn’t have to mean only salads. Sustainable healthy eating just means making more healthy choices than unhealthy ones.

realistic changes that can be continued throughout life.
