I saw this in the anchor dictionary. We will be discussing cosmological geography in the series.Also what is interesting is the ancient people outside Israel believed that the world came into existence thru chaos or disorder among the gods. The distinction is in reality, humanity has caused chaos or disorder in the Macro Temple of the Cosmos.What is further interesting, as we see here that the chaos is linked to the deep waters. The book of Revelation talks about there being no more "seas" in the Kingdom. This does not mean there will be no more water, it is understood that the seas are Israel's enemies. Enemies no longer causing chaos.See why this topic is so essential! Just this one geographical element of the cosmos.Living waters takes on a whole new context.

The last few months I have been focusing on studying and learning about how integrated the Macro Temple of YHWH is interwoven all thru Scripture. I encourage everyone,as I mentioned here on facebook a few weeks ago, to begin to look at Scripture as essentially a Temple Text as it begins in Genesis One with the Macro Temple of the Cosmos, and also ends in the Book of Revelation with it as well. Everything in between those bookends is ultimately showing what humanity's functioning role is in that arena.I am working on the power point for the Introduction for this series, and below in the comments , you will see the material we will be using through out the study. The entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation is in essence a "Temple Text".

It begins with the Marco- Temple in the Heavens and ends with the Macro-Temple in the Heavens.Everything in between is YHWH showing how His Creation has a functioning role within HIS Temple.

Simply Fascinating.

This is completely amazing on how embedded in the text we can see elements of YHWH's Temple in the Cosmos, referring back to the original Temple text in Genesis 1.

There are 7 speeches or texts given to Moshe on the construction of the Tabernacle and its furnishings, all beginning with the phrase, "And spoke to Mosheh" Which can be found in Exodus 25:1, 30:11, 30:17,30:22,30:34,31:1 and the seventh in 31:12

Now notice that there is a distinction between the first 6 of these speeches and then the seventh....

The Seventh, in Exodus 31:12-18

Exo 31:12 And spoke to Mosheh, saying,Exo 31:13 And you, speak to the children of Yisral, saying, My Sabbaths you are to guard, by all means, for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, to know that I, , am setting you apart.Exo 31:14 And you shall guard the Sabbath, for it is set-apart to you. Everyone who profanes it shall certainly be put to death, for anyone who does work on it, that being shall be cut off from among his people.Exo 31:15 Six days work is done, and on the seventh is a Sabbath of rest, set-apart to . Everyone doing work on the Sabbath day shall certainly be put to death.Exo 31:16 And the children of Yisral shall guard the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations as an everlasting covenant.Exo 31:17 Between Me and the children of Yisral it is a sign forever. For in six days made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed. Exo 31:18 And when He had ended speaking with him on Mount Sinai, He gave Mosheh two tablets of the Witness, tablets of stone, written with the finger of Elohim.

The extended text to keep the Sabbath after the other 6 speeches of construction directly references the Seven Days of Creation found in Genesis 1!The Earthly Tabernacle is a microcosm of the Heavenly Tabernacle. Genesis 1 is an actual Temple text showing the 7 day pattern of YHWH and His Temple in the Cosmos.

As to the holy house itself, which was placed in the midst [of the inmost court], that most sacred part of the temple, it was ascended to by twelve steps; and in front its height and its breadth were equal, and each a hundred cubits, though it was behind forty cubits narrower; for on its front it had whatmay be styled shoulders on each side, that passed twenty cubits further. Its first gate was seventy cubits high, and twenty-five cubits broad; but this gate had no doors; for it represented the universal visibility of heaven, and that it cannot be excluded from any place. Its front was covered with gold all over, and through it the first part of the house, that was more inward, did all of it appear; which, as it was very large, so did all the parts about the more inward gate appear to shine to those that saw them; but then, as the entire house was divided into two parts within, it was only the first part of it that was open to our view. Notice that this first Parochet was embroidered with the Heavens i.e Cosmos!

Mar 1:10 And immediately, coming up from the water, He saw the HEAVENS BEING TORN OPEN and the Spirit coming down on Him like a dove.Mar 1:11 And a voice came out of the heavens, You are My Son, the Beloved, in whom I did delight.

Act_7:56 and he said, Look! I see the heavens opened and the Son of Adam standing at the right hand of Elohim!

This is the photo Heiser uses in his powerpoint when he starts talking about ancient cosmology....Understanding the mindset and culture of the Temple geography is huge.

My focus on this series will be mainly on the ideas of what the Ancient near East believed concerning the cosmos as a Temple and how this ties in with our Covenant with YHWH. We will explore the context of Genesis 1-3 and talk about how this text is a Temple text and was never intended to be a modern day rebuttal to evolution. All the ANE knew there was a "Creator", but the context of cosmology has to do with how the cosmos "functioned" for the gods and the people.For example, an "act of creation" in the minds of the ancient near east was not defined by the material of an object, but rather an object was defined by its function in the cosmos and within the reality of the people. This rings true in Genesis as well.So you see this just one small example of how our understanding of the culture and context has been skewed and flawed over the course of generations.It is my hope after we study multiple areas of Ancient Cosmology that we can begin to see beyond just the earthly, the form, the mechanics of our 5 senses mentality of the Kingdom and move onto a clearer idea of the Heavenly, the function, and the character surrounding the Kingdom of YHWH and His Macro-Temple of the Cosmos.

Torah Nugget Kedoshim Leviticus 19:1-20:27 (2013-2014)In this week's torah nugget , our focus will be on YHWH's prohibition of child sacrifice and how these Scripture's cannot be used against what Messiah has done for us in the Heavenly Temple. Remember that we serve the KING and Creator of all things, the Sovereign over the Cosmos. If we understand that we as men and women have caused the chaos in the cosmos by sinning right from the Garden and the KING has to bring Order back to HIS Cosmic Temple,then all else begins to make sense in Scripture. Ladies and Gentlemen, I encourage all of you to please investigate the Temple, the sacrifices and the graded stages of impurity/purity in the camp. Investigate them from their proper context of the ancient near east, not your modern day ideology. It is only when we put down our pre-conceived notions attached to religion, that we can truly begin to understand ancient covenant. The Temple/Tabernacle is meant to be a Micro-Cosmos and the Cosmos is to be understood as YHWH's Macro-Temple.
