SOLUTIONS FOR FAULT DETECTION AND D A M A G E D S E C T I O N I S L A N D I N G FOR 6-110 kV CABLE AND OVERHEAD LINES
Ready solution for creation of intelligent and observable power grids
Advantages: Continuous monitoring of overhead and cable lines Automatic control system for instantaneous disconnection of damaged sections and restoration of power to undamaged sections (for OHL) Reduced number of emergencies; safety of human lives Increasing the grid's digitalisation and operation
KOMORSAN system is a modern, multi-level hardware and software system that combines grid monitoring, control and management functions. The system ensures that every transformer and distribution substation in the grid, as well as line nodes, is monitored.
KOMORSAN is an additive and scalable SCADA system allowing to expand functionality with the expansion of the hardware infrasturecture and necessities. This allows you optimizing the financial investment through the gradual development of the system.
Possibilities of KOMORSAN complex solution:
Maximum facilitation of the dispatcher's work; Control of damaged section by using disconnectors, reclosers and sectionalizers; Display of current state of the grid on a geographical map with the identification of damaged sections;
SMS and E-mail fault notification to the maintenance team; Displaying of oscillograms and vector diagrams for events.
KOMORSAN POWER GRID MONITORING
AND CONTROL SYSTEM
Record all types of faults: phase-to-ground (PtG), phase-to-phase (PtP);
Function of current threshold auto-tuning;
Detect the direction of fault current flow;
Do not require upgrades of infrastructure equipment;
Work on lines of any topology and of any type of neutral grounding;
Allow rapid transfer of emergency information to the control room.
Fault passage indicators (FPI) – indicators for determination of damaged section of 6-110 kV lines for installation on each phase of the conductor:
Lodestar CLxx MASTER (for 6-35kV)
The kit consists of three devices: Lodestar CLxx Master (1 item) and Lodestar CLxx-S (2 items). Master communicates using GSM channel of the mobile operator's cellular network.
Lodestar CLxx-Master has a short-range radio channel and GSM data transmission channel, allowing information to be transmitted to SCADA (via KOMORSAN).

FAULT PASSAGE INDICATORS (FPIs)
LODESTAR CLxx FOR 6-35 kV MV LINES
Advantages: Visual and remote signaling about damaged sections of the line Data integration into any SCADA system Enhanced resistance to radio interferences On-load conductor mounted (no power shutdown)
The top model of the fault passage indicator Lodestar CL0.5 determines the direction of the fault's current flow, showing to power engineers which direction to move along the line.
This FPI allows the transmission of currents and oscillograms which help power engineers to restore in detail the events that occurred on the line.
Lodestar CL2 indicators perform synchronous vector voltage measurements in three phases and record all types of faults.
Lodestar CL4 indicators performs independent voltage measurements and differentiate the types of faults by different ways sequence of light indications, showin fault information: stable/transient, PtP/PtG.
On request these FPI models can be equipped with a light indication and a mechanical blinker.
Lodestar CL25B - is a basic model of fault passage indicators, optimal to use when fault currents in the line exceed 20 A.
All models have been successfully tested for a current surge up to 50 kA, so they are guaranteed to withstand a lightning strike near the place where the indicators are installed.

The fault indicators for high-voltage lines are designed to solve problems of the line maintenance.
Lodestar HV the first model of the line has only a visual indication, convenient for placement in a well-viewed area, for example, at the entrance of OHL to a substation.
Lodestar HV DD model not only detects the presence of a fault event on the overhead line, but also determines the direction of fault currents. It is very convenient to use at borders of operational responsibility, state borders, and passing through water barriers.
Lodestar HV B and Lodestar HV DD indicators are equipped with a short-range radio channel of the BLE standard, which allows you to easily configure and customize the settings from any smartphone using Lodestar APP software.
