The NET2100 features a large (20 characters x 8 lines)nonreflective glass display with backlight. It offers abroad field of view and extensive operating temperaturerange. Control panels are provided on both the front andrear. Any keyboard layout can be configured, andpowerful “softkeys” and "edit-keys" along with the 10-keys greatly facilitate data input.

NET2100: A high-precision, multi-function3-D station±(0.8 +1ppm x D*1) mm precision and 0.1 mm minimum resolution in distancemeasurement; 2" precision and 0.5” minimum resolution in angle measurement

*1 D = distance, unit:mm

Unique optical system offering the highestmeasuring precision in its class

The NET2100 features SOKKIA'sunique optical system created toachieve supreme precision in industrialmeasurements. Light is emitted fromthe center of an objective lens andreceived at the periphery. Using thissystem, light can be received uni-formly from all areas of the target, thereby enabling high-precisionmeasurement regardless of theinstallation angle or direction of targetinstallation.

Standard deviation within 0.9mm at 100m

The NET2100 has a large internal memory(448KB) capableof holding a full 3,000 data points.Multiple Job Files allow amaximum of twenty-four different files for different jobs.Point numbers can be input alphanumerically. Forty featurecodes (max. 16 characters each)can be stored in thememory for easy recall for recording. Measurement andrecording are performed simultaneously with a single touchof the "AUTO" key.

A nickel-hydrogen battery serves as the power supply.Using a single battery weighing a mere 250g, it is possibleto perform measurements for about two hours. The batterycan be recharged in only 70 minutes, using the high-speedbattery charger provided as standard equipment. As twobatteries are provided, it is actually possible to measure forup to four hours. The remaining battery charge is constantly

displayed, in four stages. An auto power cut-offfunction cuts the powersupply automatically after30 minutes idle time. Apowerful resume function isalso provided which returnsthe unit to the operatingmode before the unit waslast turned off. Abundantpower supply systems arealso available for longerusage needs, includingexternal batteries and anAC/DC converter.

The automatic dual-axis level compensator detects anyinclination of the NET2100 from proper perpendicularity inany direction and automatically performs compensation ofthe horizontal, vertical and sighting axes as necessary. The result is outstanding precision in angle measurementat all times. It is also possible to confirm the inclination ofthe unit graphically or numerically, toachieve accuratecollimation with speed.

The NET2100 is provided with avariety of innovative features toensure accurate collimation, whichis indispensable to high-precisionmeasurement. The telescope'shorizontal fixed/fine adjustmentknobs and focusing knobs, whichperform collimation of the targetobject, are all rubber-coated toprevent slippage. All fine adjust-ment knobs can be operated ateither of two speeds: fine orcoarse. The result is accuratecollimation with outstandingspeed.

For optimum mobility when movingand installing the unit, the NET2100

and its carrying case have beendesigned for lightweight convenienceand compact size. The main unit, withbattery installed, weighs only 6.1 kg.The carrying case weighs a mere3.9kg.

In addition to standard features for distance and anglemeasurement, the NET2100 comes with built-in basicprograms for the following measurement modes: 3-DCoordinate Measurement, Setting-out, Resection, AzimuthAngle Setting, OffsetMeasurement, Missing LineMeasurement, RemoteElevation Measurement,Angle Repetition.

• Connection of coordinate systems (useful for measuring large structures, etc. using asingle coordinate system)• Front/rear measurement modes • On-site positioning through use of design data• Versatile data conversion • Outstanding on-site analysis and confirmation

3. The first measuring point is used as thedatum point (0,0,0); the second measuringpoint, as a point on the X-axis (X4,0,0); thethird measuring point, as a point in the XZplane (X5,0,Z2). The coordinate system isthen set by using these three points insuch a way that the Y-axis falls directlyperpendicular to the XZ plane.

2. The first measuring point is used as thedatum point (0,0,0); the second measuringpoint, as a part of the X-axis (X2,0,0); thethird point, as a point in the XY plane(X3,Y1,0). The coordinate system is thenset by using these three points in such away that the Z-axis falls directly perpen-dicular to the XY plane.

1. The first measuring point is used as thedatum point (0,0,0); the second measuringpoint, as a point in the XZ plane (X1,0,Z1).The coordinate system is then set usingthese two points in such a way that the Z-axis lies in the perpendicular direction.

Other Convenient Functions

The NET2100 offers outstanding mobility. Simply place theobject to be measured in any convenient position formeasurement, and take measurements of two or threerandom points. The NET2100 sets the coordinate systemautomatically to begin measurement. The standard measurement program of the SDR4E Control

Terminal offers three standard methods for setting thecoordinate system, to facilitate post-measurement analysis.By offering free selection depending on the conditions ofobject measurement (location, etc.), post-measurementcoordinate conversion can be performed quickly.

With the position measurement program, the coordinate system is set automati-cally by measuring two to six random points for which design coordinate data isprovided, such as control points used for surveying. The XY plane is alwaysdetermined to be horizontal, and the Z-axis to coincide with the plumb line.Part positioning and installation can be performed quickly by comparing themeasured data against the design data. For tunnel displacement measurement, the initial data can be converted for use in place of design data, for referenceeach time measurements are taken.

The coordinate system for design data measurement is set automatically bymeasuring three to six random points for which design data is provided. Bymeasuring the points on the measured object and setting the coordinate system, the X, Y and Z axes are made to coincide with the coordinate system of thedesign data. Even in cases where the measured object is installed at a tilt orrotated 180°, measurement can be continued by comparing actual measure-ment data with the design data. This feature is especially useful for measuringthe shape of large parts used in structures such as ships and bridges.

(optional)

The SDR4E is a large-capacity, versatile control terminal that permits instant, on-site comparison ofdesign data with actual measurement data. It not only offers programs for standard measurementapplications, but is available with programs for measurement of design data and position measure-ment. With both methods, by inputting data on the measuring points in advance, it is possible toreproduce design data coordinate systems at the site. Measurement data can then be stored whilecomparing the actual measurement data against the design data at each measuring point.

Enables reproduction of design data, for comparison withmeasurement data on site

Diverse Range of Targetsand Professional Programs forEnhanced Measurement Efficiency

The NET2100 is used with Sokkia's specially devel-oped reflective targets set at each measuring point. They feature adhesive tape backing for direct fixingto the measuring object. A full lineup of sizes andshapes is available, from 5 x 5mm to 90 x 90mm, tomatch the size and shape of the object beingmeasured or the measurement distance. SOKKIAoffers targets for all locations and almost any object.Besides sheet type targets, rotary targets are alsoavailable for convenient use with datum points orcoordinate system connecting points. A two-pointtarget is available for measuring hidden points thatcannot be directly collimated.
