SOCIAL MEDIA REACTION TO
THE FIRST DRAFT
Going on Facebook◦ In order to assess the wider range of opinions on my movie trailer I turned to the
largest audience I have at my disposal: My Facebook friends. I wanted to assess if the movie would appeal to all age ranges and what things could be finalised for my second draft. So I made the post you can see below.
Most helpful reactions:
◦ From this I took that my deductions about more action, as seen in the “More action ” text on black screen, part of the first draft were correct. In order to build the audiences anticipation to a climax I needed more action shots. The main idea however has been conveyed which is a success for me meaning that most of the trailer could stay as it is. If any story issues had arisen it would have required a major re-work however this does not seem to be the case.
◦ As the feedback evidenced above the professional feel I wished for my trailer to have through use of the production company and the green screen had paid off. Additionally the set must have been convincing for a professional effect meaning these things could be maintained. The story line again was clear to my audience meaning the black screens with text could be kept in. The flight scenes e.g. action were again highlighted- meaning I will make sure to add more in. Overall the feedback here has been overwhelming positive meaning many of the things I have incorporated can stay in.
◦ Again the key criticism here is one I had already outlined myself. I need to add more action into the final sequences. There appears to be no issue with the story line or with establishing characters. I will follow the original feelings I have and film more action for my final draft.
