Marketing & the She Anna Bella Brand

Marketing is a word that everyone has heard, and might use in conversation, but many people don’t understand what marketing really means. Marketing is the process of engaging potential customers and clients with your products and services. Successful marketing is when this process results in profi ts from your work, and you have in turn established a market base. A key word in the defi nition of marketing is “process”; marketing involves researching, promoting, selling, and distributing your products and services. There are many ways to do this: promotion, networking, advertising, and branding.

What defi nes a brand, you might ask? The aim of a brand, or the process of branding, is to clearly associate an organization, product or service with an image or identity in the mind of the target audience. The brand should associate this image or identity with the quality and characteristics of the product or service. An established brand shows and tells the public quickly what an organization represents and what it has to off er. Branding allows you to create an emotional and psychological connection to your customers.

Both marketing and branding are incredibly important aspects of a successful business. That is why you need to market yourself... and your services! A successful business and brand does not start and fi nish at a logo or a business card. It is in how your customers perceive and relate to you, and how they are motivated by your product or service. Successful marketing and branding is as BIG as your logo, website, and reputation, and as SMALL as how you answer your phone, respond to your emails, and treat your customers.

The She Anna Bella brand is known in the market as being aff ordable, fashionable, fun, and girly - with a lot of class and quality. She Anna Bella is all about getting ladies together to have fun social get-togethers fi lled with inspiring conversation, shopping and casual catch-up. It represents our company’s culture, mission statement and love for making women feel empowered and great about themselves! She Anna Bella is about ambitions, accomplishments, and women being their absolute best selves!

She Anna Bella represents this in all of our marketing materials, head offi ce staff , retail products and even our event processes. Now, take a step back and look at your role in this business as a ‘Lady Boss’! As the fabulous She Anna Bella Lady Boss that you are, you have access to the She Anna Bella brand - but you do still need to build your business. You will need to create a persona and a reputation with your clients. Try starting with the answer to this question: “What do you want your She Anna Bella business to be known for?”

Use social media to feature a look.

MARKETING AND SOCIAL MEDIA

The She Anna Bella slogan is ‘Purses, Jewellery & Scarves!’. Our slogan represents people’s fi rst impression of a She Anna Bella Event. It is what most women exclaim at the sight of a She Anna Bella Lady Boss setting up her pop-up boutique of hundreds of beautiful and fashionable accessories in their own home. This slogan is inspired by our unique approach to our home and public events, as well as the most common reaction to all the amazing prices and products we carry. The She Anna Bella brand prides itself on creating a relationship based on ease and trust between our customers and Hostesses. This results in larger purchases, more event bookings, team growth and events full of girly fun!

The key to She Anna Bella’s shared success with its Lady Bosses and Hostesses is to remember that the She Anna Bella brand is strengthened through each Lady Boss, and extends to everyone that Lady Boss comes in contact with. To perpetuate this success for years to come, She Anna Bella needs YOU to market yourself and get your brand, product and service out there for other women to experience.

‘Fake it to Make it’

Marketing is all about fi rst impressions and perception! Have you heard the term ‘fake it to make it’ before? The interesting thing is that marketing is not actually about being fake or misrepresenting yourself or your business. It’s about acting confi dent and going with the fl ow until you know your business inside and out! Everyday you’ll learn new tips and tricks. She Anna Bella Headquarters will support you with professional, up-to-date, marketing materials. You can use these tools to help market yourself. Eventually, you will get more and more comfortable with your product knowledge and working a crowd or fan base. But the key in the beginning is believing in yourself, your brand and putting on a confi dent face!

You will be asked by many people how your new business venture is going and it is important to answer this in a positive way. ALWAYS talk about your business in a positive way with lots of excitement. You will get far more bookings and interest if your clients sense you are happy and in demand. This positive energy will spread and everyone will want to be a part of your success!

When you are just starting out and are still in the process of fi guring everything out, you can answer the question with an answer like “I’m loving it! I’m really getting into the groove” ...or “It’s picking up quickly” ...or “It is very rewarding, and the best part is getting to look through all the fabulous products!” You don’t want to lie, but you always want your contacts to think you are in demand and happy. This creates a sense of urgency (good marketing!), which results in their desire for a new trendy purse or to book a She Anna Bella event – which they better do quickly! This energy will also spark an interest for prospective business partners in joining you and becoming part of the She Anna Bella team. Always share insight with people that ask how amazing our products are, how much fun you have in this role, and how fabulous the She Anna Bella brand is! You could begin to grow your own She Anna Bella team! Remember - it is human nature to want to be a part of something incredible – and you and your business are incredible!

How to Create YOUR Brand & Market YOUR Business

Your She Anna Bella business involves you promoting and selling beautiful fashion accessories, yes, but it’s also about YOU and YOUR personality - which is YOUR brand! Hostesses want a fun, inspiring Lady Boss showing up to their home. The Hostess has invited her family and friends over, welcomed you into her home, and spent time cooking and cleaning. Your job entails appreciating all of this and making it worth her while. Remember, she is so excited about the idea of getting to choose all her free products, so be sure to bring your game and really work the crowd! After all, you are in a roomful of potential Hostesses and customers whose love and trust you want to earn so they want to buy, and book an event with you!

Some people fi nd it challenging to stand in front of a group of people and work it – we all have our off days. It is vital to the success of your business that you learn to escape your shell, however, and put on your game face…and work the crowd! We’ve gathered our top tips to help you accomplish this goal:

* Develop your She Anna Bella alter ego – you can be quiet and not involved and have a so-so event, or you can step out of your shyness and work the room and have a great event!

* When you walk into the Hostess’s home, imagine you are on a stage, playing the role of the fabulous She Anna Bella Lady Boss. You are fun, always smiling, and chatting up all the ladies at the event.

* Remember these ladies are here to see YOU and YOUR products! They may know they want a purse, but just not sure which one. Try to start up one-on-one conversations with guests. This will help create a connection with them and you’ll be able to off er them advice on what you feel would be the best products for them.

* Do some research before an event booking to inform yourself on the latest looks or hot new trends... especially after a public event like the Oscars, Grammys or New York Fashion Week. Women who are not trendy or think they are not fashionable will come to you for advice or your opinions. Remember, you are a Lady Boss!

* Spend time reading magazines or watching She Anna Bella training tutorials (you can fi nd them in the “Downloadables” section in your online account). Get to know your product, and rehearse your spiel at home, or in the shower, or in the car. This will build your confi dence and make you feel more comfortable when talking about your business and YOUR brand.

* If you are feeling awkward speaking in front of a big crowd, you can always imagine them all in their underwear – that should make you want to get them accessorized quickly!

* Be sure to read the section on Building & Growing Your Business for many more tips.

One of the best things that you can do to market your business is to get yourself and your products out there! Most commonly, this is done by attending fundraisers, public events and consumer tradeshows. Be sure to read the section, Tradeshows, Public Events & Fundraisers, for a more detailed explanation of how these events can help your business.

You’ll also need to have your ‘30 Second Commercial’ ready and rehearsed. Gather the most important points about you and your business, then put it into a short spiel. This way you will have it ready whenever someone asks you what you do, compliments your outfi t, or asks where you got your great accessories from! And don’t forget to tell them they can Shop She Anna Bella online through you anytime! Here are some great tips and unique ways on how to market yourself and network:

* Always, always, ALWAYS carry and wear your She Anna Bella products. Make sure you’ve got a great bag with you, a functional and fabulous Pixie, and more! Remember the Pixie is one of our top sellers - pull it out of your bag and work it. It will get attention!

* Make sure you always have your business cards handy and be sure you reference your Lady Boss Rep Code on everything so you can earn commission if they shop online.

* Off er fashion advice and talk about fashion trends... you are sending a message that you know what you are talking about!

* Do your banking with a human teller, and go to diff erent branches in your area. They will ask you questions about your business when you do a deposit, especially a big one!

* Talk up your business any chance you get - the hair salon, nail spa, and even the grocery store! Leave them all with information and excitement about what you do!

* Don’t forget any opportunity, there are a number of events that you will likely attend if you have kids (school plays, sports games, play groups, parent meetings, dentist and doctor offi ces, etc.), just be sure to share your business in these situations as well!

* Donate products to local stag & does, community events, raffl e draws and fundraisers.

* Go to your She Anna Bella account and search all the wonderful and professional marketing materials available for you to download or order.

* Organize a community event and set up a table with your products and business information on what you do, how to join your team, and of course how they can Shop She Anna Bella online through you!

* Contact community magazines, newspapers and newsletters to tell them about your business, and your success. They may want to run a story on you!

* Host a joint event with another consultant from a non-competing business - network and work together.

* Stick your business cards on bulletin boards in your community and surrounding areas.

* Make up candy packs with your business info attached to them and hand out to the Halloween Trick or Treaters with a note to the mom (who is likely to check out the candy fi rst).

* Put together holiday themed baskets or even She Anna Bella gift sets with your contact and event informationattached - great for Secret Santa gifts at your husband’s work or your child’s school.

* Make sure that you mention your business on your voicemail, include the She Anna Bella web address for people to check out new products, and a short note about FREE booking gifts and your availability.

* Have your She Anna Bella website and any other social media information printed on your personal cheques.

* You should subscribe to fashion magazines for researching purposes and once you are done with them cover up the address label with a sticker that says ‘compliments of (your name) – She Anna Bella Lady Boss’ and list your contact information. Then donate them to local offi ces and waiting rooms.

* Stay up-to-date with fashion trends through (free) online publications such as Racked.com

* Subscribe to fashion media websites and follow fashion-based social media accounts, such as those run by fashion bloggers. This will get your name out there in the social media world and start establishing your name when people Google you! And yes, they will!

There are many more great and unique ideas to promote and market your business and the She Anna Bella team. Remember that your ideas are always welcome for sharing. New marketing information and discussions will be covered at your monthly Unit Meetings, so always be sure to attend those meetings for more business building tips!

What is Social Media?

Social Media has taken on a dynamic (always developing) defi nition today. The best way to defi ne social media is to break it down. Media is an instrument of communication, like a newspaper or a radio. Therefore, Social Media is a social or public avenue of (almost) limitless communication. A form of Social Media could be a website that doesn’t just give you information, but interacts with you while giving you that information. This interaction can be as simple as asking for your thoughts or comments and it can be as complex as letting you vote or ‘like’ something. Social Media is also a two-way street that gives you the ability to communicate with other users, just like you! It can deliver information and content, but doesn’t allow readers/viewers/listeners to participate in the creation or development of the content. Facebook, Instagram and Twitter are great examples of popular Social Media, and as soon as you hear these words, you can add at least three more sites to the list!

MARKETING AND SOCIAL MEDIA 8

MARKETING AND SOCIAL MEDIA

Using Social Media to market is FREE (in most cases), and is one of the most eff ective ways of reaching a targeted clientele and engaging your existing customers. It also keeps them coming back for more! Social Media websites like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn have allowed companies, colleagues and customers to interact like never before. Facebook has always been a large component of marketing at She Anna Bella. Rather than advertise in a local paper and only reach local people, a simple posting on a Social Media site can reach interest from all over the country!

She Anna Bella recommends that you do your research on Social Media by going online (Google it!), go to a local library or bookstore and read up on it. Look into how you can join Social Media sites and blogs. The She Anna Bella Marketing department provides lots of support and Social Media materials available in your account for downloading to help you create a professional online presence and build your Social Media sites. Go to our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/sheannabellastyle, and “like” us, view and interact! Check out our company blogs in your account, to post or pin news and style events. There is so much available to you and you should really take advantage of this advertising and marketing tool. When you do, you will be rewarded, your client base will increase, your income will grow, the urgency of bookings will stay strong and the potential of building your own She Anna Bella team will happen!

There are many resources at your fi ngertips to help you stay in the know. Keep in mind that technology is always changing and you need to stay on top of things. By doing this you will never let your followers down and lose their trust and ‘likes’. She Anna Bella has created groups, fan pages and events that reach people at an exponential level. We manage and update these Social Media outlets on a daily basis. Using social media as a marketing tool is a skill that needs to be learned and you must always be conscience of it.

Another key to the success of Social Media is that being online seems to be a very comfortable place for a lot of people. Because of this it has become a place for sharing our thoughts, our lives and monumental moments. This is what makes it such an incredible medium. However, if you plan on using Social Media to market your business and yourself, you have to become more mindful of how you are using this medium. If you are familiar with using Social Media think about how you may have to shift how you use it. It is no longer a way to share questionable photos from the weekend. Nor should it be used for voicing your political or religious views. You need to be neutral. This is a BUSINESS tool now, and you need to be professional. Be yourself, but be your ‘business’ self.

Personal or Business?

There is much debate about whether to keep your personal Social Media pages separate from your business? It is your choice whether to separate the two, but there are a few things to consider.

Keep in mind that more bookings, more sales, more recruits, more comments and more likes are going to come from a broader pool of friends and fans. More people means more business. Your business page is an important tool to keep your loyal fans and customers engaged in continuing to support your business. But your personal page is where you’ll be able to talk to the masses and turn passive potentials into active customers and team

MARKETING AND SOCIAL MEDIA 9

MARKETING AND SOCIAL MEDIA

members! You should try to use BOTH personal and business pages to your advantage. Something else to think about is that personal is more trustworthy. You can make stronger and more lasting connections this way. Traditional marketing makes claims and competitive comparisons that may or may not be true, like being the best, the most awarded, and so on. As a result, consumers have learned not to trust traditional advertising... unless there is a face to it or a story behind it. Show your consumers that you are a real person and they can believe in you, and most importantly, relate to you.

There are so many tools out there for you to link fan pages, blogs, and galleries all linked together. You can connect all your Social Media outlets together and share them with EVERYONE - personal or business. Therefore, we recommend you utilize them and try not to set limits to your potential. These pages off er support for your wonderful friends and followers - as well as your loyal She Anna Bella fans and customers who always want to hear and see what is new in the world of She Anna Bella and fashion!

At the same time, keep in mind that on your personal page you don’t only talk about business, or your friends will stop reading your postings! Try to mix it up so that your postings or comments are not always business oriented. And when you do post something about your She Anna Bella business, make it clever and unique! Try to be catchy and interesting to grab people’s attention and keep them reading or commenting!

Finally, don’t let Social Media or technology scare you! Even if you don’t use it, please recognize that a massive percentage of the world does and that you need to get on this important tool to market your business! She Anna Bella Headquarters and your Unit Directors can off er help and instructions to assist you in the use of these sites. Challenge yourself and before you know it, something that was uncomfortable will soon become a promotional powerhouse that you have mastered, and more importantly, that you are having fun with!!

Social Media Do’s & Don’ts

As soon as you set up your Social Media accounts and start to amass followers, your next step will be creating customized posts. Thinking of something to post can sometimes seem as tricky as coming up with a wedding toast—and of course we want people to “like” our post as much as we hope the newlyweds will like our toast! Here are some helpful tips on the do’s and don’ts of maintaining a successful Social Media presence:

The Do’s:

* DO be informative. According to research conducted by emarketer, consumers expect more than entertainment when connecting with a brand online. They expect information and incentives, like off ers or promotional announcements or rewards for following. Potential customers love to do research and ask questions online, so be sure to share tips that you’ve learned from She Anna Bella HQ or trends that you’ve spotted personally with your followers!

MARKETING AND SOCIAL MEDIA

* DO be educated. Stay on top of the site’s rules and policies! They are updated regularly and it’s important to follow the rules that are laid out so that we don’t risk losing our ability to get exposure via our number one marketing tool. Breaking the rules could result in your page, group or account being shut down—which means that you would lose the customer base that you’ve worked hard to build.

* DO be excited and positive. Share your excitement about new products that have arrived and share success stories, both business and personal. Find means to turn a negative into a positive.

* DO be thankful. Thank your Hostesses publicly for hosting a great event – feel free to specifi cally mention all the pretty free stuff she earned to motivate more bookings.

* DO be colourful. With permission, try to post fun photos of your family and friends. Photos that show your personality is great. Don’t forget to post pictures of products and great new trends! Social Media users love to scroll through feeds; give them something pretty to look at! Colourful photos add vibrancy to your page.

* DO be honest. Be true to yourself in any business and non-business related posts or comments. Users love honesty and sincerity. Always be genuine with your interest in people.

* DO be present. Keep tabs on any comments made on product photo posts. This will help you see what your

customers are looking for and what they are interested in.

* DO be smart. If you are using your personal social media pages, remember to inform friends and family that you are using them as a self-promotional tool, and therefore you would appreciate a private message if they wish to contact you about any personal matters. It’s a good idea to delete inappropriate posts, photos, or comments too. Remember to review your privacy and account settings, making changes as necessary.

* DO be correct. Think before you post. Check your spelling and always treat the people interacting with your posts with respect.

* DO be cool. Be casual with how you promote—not pushy. Mix up your posts so that they aren’t always business related. This will help maintain your fan base by keeping your followers and friends interested in engaging, instead of feeling spammed.

The Don’ts:

* DON’T be uninformed. Be informed and cautious doing contests with specifi c rewards, because most Social Media sites have rules and regulations about them or do not allow them at all. Feel free to create a blog or specifi c website to host these contests or rewards and use your Social Media sites to direct traffi c to them. DO NOT use online sites or social media to sell products! This is against She Anna Bella rules. Promoting and selling are two diff erent things.

Page 11: SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING - She Anna · PDF fileMarketing & Social Media Marketing ... This energy will also spark an interest ... vital to the success of your business that you learn

MARKETING AND SOCIAL MEDIA 11

MARKETING AND SOCIAL MEDIA

* DON’T be politicaly or socially incorrect. Do not engage in political, religious, or controversial topics, as such topics are bound to exclude potential customers with diff erent views. That will narrow your customer base, and you could possibly lose followers. Try not to join groups that are controversial or immature. Facebook Groups that you’ve joined and Pages that you’ve Liked are listed on your profi le for all to see.

* DON’T be negative. Never post negative comments about your competition. No matter what your privacy settings are, never complain about the size of an event, or a diffi cult Hostess. Your friends and family are all potential Hostesses or referrals. Be professional about your personal posts and refrain from using swear words or bad language.

* DON’T be a complainer. Do not comment or complain about low levels of stock, what product you have or don’t have, what you’ve sold or haven’t sold, late shipments, etc. and please don’t compare your stock or concerns with other Lady Boss’ publicly on your page - these are all things that need to be dealt with in a private message. Your Hostesses, friends and family can all see this Again everyone is a potential referral!

* DON’T be careless or unprofessional. Do not tag yourself in and un-tag yourself from photos of that are controversial or less than fl attering. Do not get involved in Facebook Games and send requests to your friends or followers. Make sure you check your account settings on your social media platforms. You need to make a good impression online, so that people feel comfortable sharing their information with you and potentially inviting you into their homes. Spamming will make you look insincere…don’t do it! Remember that your social media page a potential customer’s fi rst impression of you!

* DON’T be pushy. Do not try to sell people the fi rst time that you are connecting with them. Build rapport and catch up on your personal lives fi rst. Don’t be too ‘in your face’ with customers. The She Anna Bella way is fun and relaxed.

* DON’T be desperate. Don’t beg for events or seem desperate. You want to appear to always be in demand! Instead of posting 20 dates in a month that you are available, post four or fi ve, and encourage customers to contact you to see if you have any other availability.

* DON’T be a parrot. Information overload and repetitive content are two of the top reasons a user chooses

to stop following or unlike a page. Think before you post.

There is always something new in the world of social media. To make the best use of your time you need to consider who your customers are and where they are online. If most of your customers think that Twitter is a sound that birds make, then you probably shouldn’t put too much time into posting on Twitter. However, if your customers know that you were at the beach yesterday because you posted it to Facebook, then that would be a good place to spend some time marketing.
