The social media manager will follow out an organizations online marketing strategy, drive traffic back to the

company's website and promote the product in different social networks to increase the brand awareness.

In simple terms you have to work with the internet marketing department and PR team so you can be in line with the companies goals and mission, so the message

that's being put out is consistent.

What's does a SMM do?

1: Lead all online marketing efforts between Marketing, Editorial and Advertising for vertical brands and

recommend ways to better their performance with initiatives that cross into social media

2: Find key stakeholders in the social communities and figure out ways to grow the distribution of content, with the

goal of growing volume of links to company's content to drive up target audiences

3: Be an Ambassador for brands in appropriate social media channels and introduce targeted campaigns

4: Provide a high volume of daily posts across Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter, and blogs

5: Help the company find success with unique and timely promotional campaigns featuring incentives to join the

social communities such as exclusive content, contests, insider access or other opportunities

6: Watch relevant industry benchmarks and assess the company's relative performance on an ongoing basis.

Identify gaps and areas of opportunity for improvement

7: Watch and check social media trends, tools, technologies, and recommend direction for investment and

implementation
