Prof. (Dr) M.P. Singh Chancellor

President of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee Visitor of the University

“As Indians, we must of course learn from the past; but we must remain focused on the future. In my view, education is the alchemy that can bring India its next golden age. Our oldest scriptures laid the framework of society around the pillars of knowledge; our challenge is to convert knowledge into a democratic force by taking it into every corner of our country. Our motto is unambiguous: All for knowledge, and knowledge for all.” – Shri Pranab Mukherjee

“For me, the publication of the University

Newsletter is not only an information sharing

exercise, but it is the initiative to invite the

participation of various stakeholders in the

institution building exercise also”- Prof. U.P. Sinha

“I extend my best wishes for the publication and

growth of the Central University of Haryana

Newsletter.” -Prof. M.P. Singh

The Central University of Haryana has traversed a long path ever since publication of

the First Newsletter in June 2014. We have achieved many milestones in diverse fields

related the University life. The students, staff and faculty of this University have

demonstrated exceptional team spirit for taking the University to new heights.

The Ministry of Human Resource Development, acting as a guiding light, has inspired in us a new vision for the future. Indeed, achieving the goal of academic excellence in Central University of Haryana has proved to be an exercise in converting challenges into opportunity. We have strived to achieve optimum utilization of available resources and creation of assets, wherever required, for efficient functioning of the University.

We have introduced eight new departments from Academic Session 2014-15 and appointed 22 Assistant Professors & 2 Associate Professors on short term contractual basis. The University is fully wi-fi enabled and is fully connected to National Knowledge Network (NKN). We are making maximum use of ICT though efficient technology management. We are in the process of upgrading software solutions used for academic and administrative purposes. The support & encouragement provided to the faculty for upgrading their research profile is paying rich dividends in terms of research output. Three teachers have received Major Research Project from ICSSR. One of them is also involved in international project with University of Edinburgh, Scotland. We have established a University- Industry Interface Cell to ensure coordination between industry & academics to fill up the gap between what Industry needs and what University teach. University has an innovation club whereby efforts are made to engage with industry and promote innovation in the University.

I affirm with assurance that with our collective and collaborative efforts we can lead our nation into the trinity of progress, which are greater political participation, social emancipation and upward economic mobility.
