SMS for Dynamics- A MICROSOFT DYNAMICS 365 SALES SOLUTION

SMS for Dynamics
Bulletin is offering an integration of Bulletin Messenger, Vodafone MultiTXT,
MessageMedia Hub and eTXT Messaging Service with Microsoft Dynamics 365
Sales.
SMS for Dynamics is a Dynamics 365 Add-on that allow you to communicate with your
customers via SMS within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales. You can select to send SMS
from Bulletin, MultiTXT, MessageMedia or eTXT.
From SMS for Dynamics, you can:
• Send single SMS to your Dynamics 365 contacts, accounts and leads.
• Receive SMS sent by your clients.
• Send bulk SMS to Marketing List.
• Schedule your Bulk SMS.
• Assign roles to members of your organisation.
• Custom Workflow to send SMS.
• Ability to select Bulletin, MultiTXT, MessageMedia or eTXT to send and receive SMS.

Download SMS for Dynamics App from Microsoft AppSource: You can download SMS for Dynamics from Microsoft AppSource.
The application will be downloaded in Dynamics 365 Sales Solutions.
Now you can access the application. From Dynamics 365 dropdown available at the top left
corner, select SMS for Dynamics.
Configuration: To send an SMS to your contacts, accounts and leads, configuration is required.
Click on Configurations from the site map of your application.
Setup: To allow the application to access Common Data Service, Click to Give App Permissions.
Your office admin user can accept the permission request. To do this, they must login and click
Accept.
Go back to the Setup page and click Setup Profile.
Select the Integration API to send SMS from Bulletin, MultiTXT, MessageMedia or eTXT. Only one Dynamics 365 org. can use a token at a time. If the token is already being used by another Dynamics 365 org, you need to create another token from your account.
Note: MessageMedia and multiTXT users need to use Basic auth rather than HMAC
For Bulletin Configuration, enter your API Bearer Token and click Save.
For multiTXT Configuration, enter the API Key and the API Secret and click Save.
For MessageMedia Configuration, enter API Key and API Secret and click Save.
For eTXT Configuration, enter your eTXT Bearer Token and click Save.
Security Roles: The SMS for Dynamics application has three security roles:
SMS for Dynamics Admin:
The Admin will be able to control all the functionalities and entities associated with the
SMS for Dynamics Application.
SMS for Dynamics Read Only:
The Read Only role will be able to read the SMS activities sent and received by the customers,
and not be able to send SMS activities (single or bulk) to anyone.
SMS for Dynamics Service role:
The Service role is for integrating the application with your services. This role will be assigned
automatically to the app user for programmatic access during application setup.
Assign Roles:
The original user will have permissions to assign roles to the users in your organisation. From settings, go to the Advanced Settings.
From the Settings dropdown, select Security. Select Users.
All the users of your organisation will be available here. Select the user you want to assign an
SMS for Dynamics role and click on Manage Roles.
Sending a Single SMS: After successful configuration you’ll be able to send SMS messages to your contacts, accounts and leads.
Note: For each contact, lead or account, make sure you have selected the correct country and
inserted a valid number in the Mobile number field before sending SMS.
Conversations:
From your sitemap select Conversations.
Your SMS activity will be saved. Then click Send.
Send Single SMS From Contact’s Record: You can also send SMS to your contacts from contact’s record. From sitemap, go to Contacts.
Open the record of contact you’ll like to send a message.
From the Contact’s Timeline, click on the +, then SMS to create a new SMS.
In the To field, select the recipient of your SMS.
Enter the Subject of your SMS and the message to send.
Click Save. Your SMS activity will be saved.
Conversation: As soon as you sent an SMS to your contact, account or lead, you’ll be able to see the conversation with your recipient in Conversational view. Click on Conversation from sitemap.
The contacts (Accounts. Contacts and Leads) will be displayed in the first section.
Click on any contact to start conversation.
Search Contact:
You can search the contact from search bar available at the top of contacts. The search will be applied on the names of contacts.
Send message:
Write Text of your message and click send. Note: The character count will be counting the characters of your message, you will not be able to exceed the maximum character limit.
The time and date of your message will be available at the top right corner and status be available at the bottom of your text.
Contact Profile Image:
You can always change the profile image of your contacts. To change the profile image, from sitemap select Contact. Select the contact from contacts records.
User Profile Image:
The user can also change or upload user’s profile image. To change the image, click on Advanced Settings.
From Settings select Security
Select Users
Click on user’s profile image to change remove or upload the image.
Archive:
To Archive any conversation, click on Archive at the top most corner of your conversation with a contact.
As soon as the conversation is archived, the conversation will not be available in All tab.
Click on Archived tab to view the conversation.
Unarchive: To unarchive a conversation, click on Unarchive. The conversation will be automatically unarchived as soon as you receive a message from the contact.
Read/Unread:
The messages that have been read will be available in Read tab. The messages that are not opened will be available in Unread. You can click on the conversation to read a message. You can also click on Click to View Message from notification to view the new message in conversation.
SMS Responses: Recipients can reply to the message you’ve sent them.
SMS Notification: If a recipient replies to your message, you’ll get a notification.
View SMS Activity in Contact’s Timeline:
If you want to see the messages sent/received to/from a Contact, go to Contacts and click on the
Contact you’d like to view.
Under the Timeline, all the activities of this Contact are available.
Bulk SMS: SMS for Dynamics allows you to send and schedule bulk text messages to your Marketing
Lists. You can schedule the SMS to a specific date and time or sent it instantly.
Note: To send bulk SMS make sure to create a Marketing List of your Contacts, Accounts
or Leads first.
Select Bulk SMS from sitemap and click New to create new record.
Sending a Bulk SMS: Enter the Name of the message – this should describe what the message is about eg. Health
and Safety Update 12/10.
Select the Marketing List to send bulk SMS to. The message will be sent to all the active
members of Marketing List.
If you are sending the message now, under SMS Type, select Instant.
If you want to send the message at a later date and time, set the SMS Type to Schedule. You’ll
now have the option to select the Date and Time to send.
Write the message to be sent. The maximum length of SMS could be 480 characters. Save the
record.
An Instant SMS will send right away, but a scheduled SMS will be sent at the selected date and
time depending on the time zone of your Personalisation Settings.
Logs: You can see the details of sent and received SMS in the Logs. Sent SMS and the details will be
available in Outbound section, and the received messages will be available in Inbound.
The Activity Status will inform that the SMS is sent.
The Status Reason will inform if the SMS is reachable to the contact number.
Click on Logs to see the sent Outbound SMS. These SMS can also be seen in the conversations.
If your recipients reply to these messages you can scroll down to see the responses under Inbound.
SMS for Dynamics Workflow: SMS for Dynamics workflow can be used to better communicate with customers by sending SMS
automatically within Dynamics 365. You can access workflows as soon as the SMS for Dynamics
solution is installed in your organization. It can be added to an existing or new workflow.
Select Workflows.SendSMS of SMSforDynamicsWorkflows (1.0.0.0)
Click on Set Properties.
Set the value for the required properties. Select the recipient phone number field in ToNumber.
Write the message to be sent. To create a record of SMS activity, Select “True” in
CreateSMSRecord Property.
Click Save and Close.
Uninstall Solution:
To uninstall SMS for Dynamics, go to Advanced Settings.
From Settings, select Solutions.
