The AMarkVAWT group has been established in 2016, and now, based on

our business model and targets, we are going to continue our business in

Denmark starting 2021. The AMarkWIND is a new brand for wind turbines

with an optimized design from electrical, mechanical, and economical point

of view. In AMarkWIND, different geometries of wind turbines have been

studied and the advantages and disadvantages to each of them have been

used to design the innovative AMark rotor. Besides, high performance and

compatible PM Generator and Electronic Controller and Monitoring System

have been designed for AMarkWIND products. AMarkWIND would produce

renewable electricity with more reliability, efficiency and safety. Currently our

small-scale products suitable for householders and small business are ready

to get necessary certifications and enter the market.

Vertical Wind turbines Horizontal Wind turbines

Pros:

› Optimized and industrialized design

› High aerodynamic efficiency

› Variable blade pitch, which gives the turbine blades the optimum angle of attack

Cons:

› Essential need to have a Yaw mechanism

› High weight to swept area ratio due to larger stress on blades

› Creating noise due to high rotor rotational speed

› Rain-drop erosion due to high blade-tip speed

› Technical issues in construction of rotor larger than 10 megawatts

› More bird death because of perpendicularity of their path to the direction of

rotating blades

Horizontal vs. Vertical design

Pros:

› Omni-directional

› Low weight to swept area ratio and possibility to reduce the production cost

› The possibility of constructing a rotor larger than 10 megawatts

› Stability of tower due to rotation of rotor about tower axis

› Lower noise and rain-drop erosion* due to low rotational speed

› Lower Floater cost for off-shore applications*

Cons:

› Aerodynamic efficiency lose due to struts

› Lower rotor rotational speed results using low-speed generator

› Variety of geometries and not industrialized design

› Vibration due to oscillation of torque produced by each blade

Introduction to AMarkWIND

In the AMarkWIND the blades have been twisted mechanically (or

aerodynamically) in order to optimize the Angle-of-Attack along the

blades regarding its V-shaped design.

Blade Design*

In the AMarkWIND the Swept Area of rotor have optimized by

choosing the best inclination angle of blades for different strut

and blade lengths. The rotor is a V-Shaped VAWT.

Strut Design*

In VAWTs, a considerable amount of power is being wasted

because of the struts. In the AMarkWIND project, a prevailing

and innovative configuration have been designed for the

structure and airfoil of Struts.

Blade Support

In AMarkWIND rotor design the Blade Supports have been added in

order to reduce the stresses on blades. As a result, the weight of the

blades was reduced to one third, meanwhile, the CFRP material has

been replaced with GFRP.

The design of Pitch Control Mechanism for AMarkWIND is

simple, efficient and reliable. Universal joint, gearbox and

servomotor are the main components of this innovative

mechanism for a V-shaped utility scale VAWTs.

Electronic Control Design

In AMarkWIND project, an advanced Electronic Control System have

been designed. This unit has a Modular, Distributed and Scalable

architecture, and it is going to control and optimize the performance

of turbine using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning.

Comparison of Out-put Power vs. Tip Speed Ratio in H-Rotor with Straight Blades and V-Shaped rotor with Twisted

Blades. The Maximum Power increased by 5.2% and rates at lower tip-speed-ratio; the centrifugal force on blades

decreased almost by 36%.

Since the AMarkWIND products are Vertical Axis Wind Turbines,

Birds could notice the rotor more easier. In HAWTs birds could

not foresee the blades coming from above because of

perpendicularity of their path to the direction of rotating blades.
