Executive Board Meeting

I. Reflection on the Spring 2015 semester: a. Positives from the semester

i. We were very organizedii. The grad room looks amazing and has been kept up by everyone

iii. Fundraisers were successful and organizediv. Especially the clothing sale made a lot of moneyv. MSHA went smoothly

vi. We added a “new” position: the student representative at faculty meetings

vii. We’ve had interprofessional socialsviii. Overall, we’ve made some positive changes!

b. Things to improve on:i. More involvement in socials

1. Can achieve this by:a. providing visuals at meetings via PowerPoint

ii. Keep the flow of meetings going1. Can achieve this by:

a. voting on discrepancies in topics, b. possibly implement a ‘talking stick’ or other ways to

reduce overall talking, c. ask members to save all questions for the end

iii. Better overall communication of events to members1. Can achieve this by:

a. Posting meeting minutes in the grad roomiv. Some E-board roles/positions were unclear or just feel that there wasn’t

much to do/would like to be more involved1. Can achieve this by:

a. Possibly change SLAC Rep and turn into a service position, or add service projects to the social chairs roles

II. Goals for the remainder of our term

A. Smooth planning for ASHA B. Continue to have at least one social per monthC. Provide opportunities for additional service projects D. Develop and maintain relationships with incoming first year grad studentsE. Plan a smooth transition for incoming SLPGO eboard members

a. Create an advice/tip sheet for 1st yearsb. Assign mentors/mentees between 1st and 2nd years and have team

bulding and or social events with themc. Create helpful resource binders for all incoming 1st years d. Have a 1st year welcome luncheone. Organize a mixer day with 1st years and faculty, professors and

supervisors F. Raise more money than last year! G. Create a Google Docs calendar with all upcoming and previous events H. Check on and participate in the DOW fundraiser

III. Plana. Next SLPGO general meeting will take place in July

i. At this meeting we will discuss:1. hotels for ASHA 2. Upcoming social events3. Upcoming fundraisers 4. Other information
