•To give some backgrounds on what teaching a Large Multilevel Class is all about

•To identify the advantages and disadvantages on teaching Large Multilevel Class

•To describe some Strategies for teaching Large Multilevel Class

•To encourage teachers to deal with these kind of Class

•To equip teachers with amount of knwoledge concerning teaching Large Multilevel Class

DEFINITION OF TERMINOLOGIES

•2.1. strategy -ways used in learning, thinking, and so forth, which works as a way to achieve a certain goal Richard and Schmidt (2010). •´´The determination of the long-run goals and objectives of an enterprise and the adoption of courses of action and the allocation of resources necessary for carrying out these goals´´ Alfred D. Chandler

Definition of Terminologies

• Large Class- there is not a standard definition about what large class is, it depends very much on the context and policies of the country how they perceive it, in other words it varies from place to place! therefore some experts have defined that large class is the kind of class with more students than the teacher prefers to manage and s/he is not accustomed Ur (1996) .

•Multilevel Class -Gurgenidze (2012) defines mixed ability relating to multilevel class in this way: ´´Mixed Ability level teaching is related to working together with students who have different personalities, skills, interests and learning needs.´´

•Another definition taken from www.English Club Center/Teaching multilevel class defined it in this manner ´´Multilevel class is a Group of students who learn and study together in one room, despite having varying levels of abilities and/or literacy backgrounds.´´

Characteristics of a Large Multilevel Class

Large Multilevel Class can be recognised on these following aspects

1. Are very numerable

2. students varies greatly in terms of skills, learning styles, cultures backgorunds, knowledge and so forth

3. some students are more advanced than others

Reasons why these Kinds of Classes Exist

•1. Pedagogical reasons

•2. Philosophical reasons

•2. Demographic reasons

•3. when there are few school to support the great crowd of students (Financial reasons)

Disadvantages on Teaching Large Multilevel Class

• Difficulties on Classroom Management

• Lack of Discipline Establishment in the classroom

• Lack of Control

•Difficulties for the Teacher to Know his/her Pupil´s Interests and Needs

• Lacks of Attention and Personal Contact with all the Students and Individual

• Difficulties on Classroom Evaluation or Assessment

RECOMMENDATIONS

• 1. Teacher who are interested in make their teaching more effective and consistent in large multilevel classes, should read more about this matter and consult other references which have written and lent their knowledge about the concept, so that they can be empowered and be equipped with a strong basis regarding teaching large multilevel class, so that their objectives and goals, may not be falsified

• 2. The second recommendation is for an emergent intensification in terms of investigations, studies, researches, about this matter, because is still notable that some teachers face difficulties on teaching classes of this kind, some are not exposed to any kind of help which may guide them on how to cope with large or multilevel class.

CONCLUSION

•Teaching at all is very a complex issues mainly when skills are needed for a teacher to deal with a particular situation or problem in the classroom, the same happen when dealing with large multilevel classes, if there is not ways which helps the teacher to stand in class of this kind, the teacher will find teaching as a monstrous activity to be done…Neglecting the strategies given throughout this paper is compromising the success that would be achieved in a very enjoyable way
