SITUATIONAL LEADERSHIP ® : A CASE STUDY APPROACH ONE-DAY WORKSHOP LEADERSHIP INFLUENCES CHANGE Situational Leadership®: A Case Study Approach provides an immersive case-study experience in team leadership and change. The program uses the movie, “Twelve O’Clock High,” about American aircrews flying B-17 bombers out of England during World War II as the basis for the case study. In the movie, participants see how leadership can influence change in organizations and improve the performance of teams. Although the movie was made in 1949, the challenges faced in the case are synonymous with the challenges faced by organizations today: rapid change, struggling leadership, wavering organizational morale, increasing performance requirements and the critical nature of the mission. The one-day case study engages participants in a series of decisions designed to increase their diagnostic skills using Situational Leadership®. Participants apply their knowledge of Performance Readiness® Levels by assessing the behaviors of characters in the case study and determining the best leadership approach given the circumstances. In addition to leadership and change, the program provides optional activities to address issues on performance evaluation, informal team leadership, McGregor’s Theory X – Theory Y and more. Situational Leadership®: A Case Study Approach provides participants with the opportunity to practice the application of Situational Leadership® in an engaging and entertaining case approach that is certain to generate rich discussion about the challenges of leadership in a changing environment.
