24th January

Dear Parent/Guardian

I am writing to make you aware of our plans to support the achievement of Year 11 students on Friday 15th February.

This day has been designated as a training day for all schools within the Griffin Trust. We will use this day to continue working closely with our Year 11 students to help them all achieve the very best possible outcomes in their summer exams.

As a result, Friday 15th February will be a normal compulsory school day for all Year 11. No other students will be at school. Year 11 will be involved in a series of achievement workshops designed to improve their knowledge, skill and understanding in our core subjects of English, Maths and Science. This day will be crucial as we begin the countdown to the summer exams.

We will expect all Year 11 students to be on school site no later than 8.30am, students are not required to wear school uniform. The schedule of the day will be as follows;

Session 1; 8.45am – 10.45amAll Year 11 students will be involved in either English and Maths workshops

Break; 10.45am – 11am

Session 2; 11am – 1pmAll Year 11 students will be involved in either English or Maths workshops

Lunchtime; 1pm – 1.30pm, this will be provided free by the school

Session 3; 1.30pm – 3.30pmAll Year 11 students will be involved in Science workshops

As I have mentioned in previous communication, the second part of the Pre Public Exam series is also fast approaching. I enclose a copy of that Pre Public Examinations timetable for Year 11 students. This event will begin on Friday 8 th

February. This is a key part of the Year 11 journey and students will be receiving revision lists and guidance from their teachers as we build up to these exams.

If you have any questions about the 15th February or the forthcoming Pre Public Exams, please do not hesitate to contact me. I thank you for your continued support.
