NIDA has been the first academic institution in Thailand joining hands with ECOT to launch UN Global Compact principles and initiatives in 2002. Major activities included seminars and workshops with ECOT, employers, business partners, and civil society to enhance understanding, commitment, and concrete actions of GC principles.
NIDA MBA Program offers its students the knowledge of corporate citizenship and global compact principles as a part of the core course (BA 610). Students have worked on an assigned project of Global Compact companies analyzing significant contributions of the companies to the Principles.
NIDA MBA Program has included Global Compact Principles in many external training programs for public and private companies. Led by Associate Prof. Dr. Maneewan Chat-uthai, ECOT Academic Adviser, has been disseminating the GC concepts to her MBA students and also at the public training courses. Constructive Dialogue
Business enterprise conducts good business for its employees and customers. CSR is valued and steered business operations under the principles of fairness, accountability, transparency, participation and a balance of socio-economic cost-benefit
Take lead roles in promoting, enforcing and mainstreaming CSR as national agenda.
Forum of advocates and dissemination of CSR good practices
NGOs as social partners providing legal advice and assistance to the affected consumers. Recent joint activities with consumers are increasing.
Consumers aware of their rights and channels to
make their sound heard.
Take lead roles in advocating CSR in the bilateral and multilateral level, disseminating and exchanging information on CSR movement and global trading requirements. ECOT initiatives and activities include: Building alliance of good employers; National recognition of ‘Good Employers’ and ‘Good CSR company’; conducting, business dialogues with international and national stakeholders; organizing CSR training and workshop; wired CSR updates; and promoting and administering CSR as trademark of quality throughout the supply chain --‘Supply Chain Purifier’
Labour acts as a partner to voice the actual practice of CSR in an organization. They should be educated more on their rights and responsibility in the CSR issues.
