As a teacher, how do I register/sign-up my students for LearnStorm?
Scenario 1If you have a CLASS already created on Khan Academy
1. Go to your teacher homepage: khanacademy.
org/coach/dashboard. Click on the button above
your class to ADD THIS CLASS TO THE
CHALLENGE.
2. For each class you add, enter school informa-
tion (zip code and school name) and your class’s
grade-level.
3. Students will get an email confirming their participation and/or see a banner at the top of their Khan
Academy page alerting them that they have joined LearnStorm.

Scenario 2If you and your students do not yet have existing Khan Academy accounts
Option AIf your school has Google Apps for Education (ask your school’s IT personnel if you do not know!), encourage your students to follow the instructions below:
1. Go to learnstorm2015.com.
Click STUDENTS START HERE.
2. Create an account by clicking SIGN IN WITH
GOOGLE. Sign in with your school email account.
3. Enter school information (zip code and school
name) and your grade-level.
4. Read and agree to the LearnStorm pledge.
5. Choose a subject/mission and begin learning math on Khan Academy!
NOTE: As a teacher, if you want to follow your students’ progress, you can log-in to Khan Academy by
clicking TEACHERS START HERE on learnstorm2015.com and follow the steps in Option C to create
a Khan Academy class. You can then provide your students with your CLASS CODE and they can add
you as their coach under the COACH tab in their account PROFILE.

3. Click on the Khan Academy application to create
your Khan Academy teacher account. Here, you’ll
be able to login to your existing KA account or
create a new one.
4. You will be redirected to your new teacher ac-
count on Khan Academy. As your students log
in (which they can easily do through their Clever
Instant Login Portal by clicking on the Khan Acad-
emy app), they will be automatically added to
your classes on Khan Academy.
Scenario 2 (Continued) If you and your students do not yet have existing Khan Academy accounts Option B
If your school has Clever (ask your school’s IT personnel if you do not know!)
1. Navigate to your INSTANT LOGIN PORTAL on
Clever. Here you will be able to see applications
that have been enabled by your district manager.
2. NOTE: If Khan Academy is not available, encour-
age your district manager to sign in to Clever
and under FREE APPS ON CLEVER, select KHAN
ACADEMY and add the application for your dis-
trict. District managers will then authorize Clever
to share information with the application by read-
ing the terms and selecting the checkbox.

my. Click the green ADD A CLASS button at

the prompts to name your class and choose a
grade-level or subject mission, or area of focus.

my account will be invited to join your class
based on their email addresses.
w Students who don’t have a Khan Academy
account will receive an email inviting them to

w Click CREATE ACCOUNTS. You’ll need stu-
dents’ birthdays and (for children under 13)
parent email addresses.
w Keep track of the usernames and passwords
you create and provide them to students
when they sign-in to Khan Academy
