    (1) Price rise (2) Fall in share of wages

    (3) Flight of finance capital (4) Decline in terms of trade

Read the passage given below and based on it answer the questions ranging from 71 to 75 :

The Cold War undermined this objective in numerous ways that have been well documented. The intensity of the confrontation between the United States and the Soviet Union undermined asystem that was premised on the existence of Great Power consensus as to the nature of unacceptableaggression and on Great Power cooperation in enforcing the peace. This premise was visible, above all, in the veto given to the five permanent members. This was made necessary not solelybecause of the Cold War itself but because of the concentration of military power (and especiallynuclear weapons) in the hands of superpowers. In such a situation, collective action could only bethreatened against either of them at the risk of provoking a devastating conflict. Thus, in contrastto the neat assumptions of the collective security model, there were states that simply could not becoerced even by the united will and power of the rest of the international community. The vetohighlighted, then, the clear and shared recognition that the collective security system could notdeal with threats to peace emanating from the superpowers or affecting their vital interests.Contingencies in that domain would have to be dealt with by the traditional right of individualand collective self-defence as reiterated in Article 51.

The system of Cold War alliances meant that idea of an isolated aggressor was also illusory. The globalization of the Cold War, particularly after the outbreak of the Korean War, and thedensity of the Cold War alliance systems meant that the majority of the most serious conflicts andcrises came to involve the interests of one or other of the superpowers or its allies. On the onehand, this meant that there would a friendly superpower willing to use its veto to block UN action. On the other, the intensity of the Cold War meant that loyalty to the Cold War alliance would tendto predominate over.
