Sigma Kappa’s national convention is making waves in Florida! Located off the coast of Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra Beach is home to beautiful beaches and world-class golf. Even more importantly, it’s where over 900 sisters and guests will gather to celebrate the 88th Sigma Kappa national convention.

Through dynamic events and innovative programming for all members, Sigma Kappa will be celebrating the bright future of the Sorority.

Use this registration book as a guide to plan your trip to Ponte Vedra Beach!

We will also recognize the progress we have made on our $5 million Shared Hearts. New Heights. A Campaign for Sigma Kappa.

Confirmed ConventioniteCelebrate with your sisters at the “Fabulously Florida” Confirmed Conventionite Celebration! Confirmed Conventionite is an 82 year old convention tradition that honors the life-long engagement of our sisterhood by celebrating Sigma Kappa members who have attended multiple conventions, as well as those being “confirmed” (attending their third convention). The Grand Dean, the Sigma Kappa who has been to the most conventions, will lead the group in the evening’s festivities. Dive into the celebration with music, food, fun and your best Florida-themed outfit. Learn more here!

Sigma Kappa Sorority extends financial incentives and discounts (allowances) to all national officers as well as alumnae and collegiate chapters, advisory boards and corporation boards who meet the requirements. These will be sent by the end of March to the president of national officer. It is strongly recommended that all voting delegates wait to make travel arrangements until their allowance information is received. Collegiate Delegates The first delegate from a collegiate chapter in good standing will receive an allowance that will be credited toward the registration cost through the registration process. The collegiate chapter is responsible for the entire cost of the second delegate, if applicable. New members may not serve as a collegiate chapter’s first or second delegate. Other members of the chapter that wish to attend convention should register as a collegiate visitor with a full-time registration or Build Your Own registration package. The chapter or member will be responsible for payment of the registration fees.

Alumnae Delegates The first delegate from an alumnae chapter in good standing will receive an allowance that will be credited toward the registration cost through the registration process. Any additional delegates’ expenses will be the responsibility of the chapter or the individual. Other chapter members attending convention should register as alumnae visitors, utilizing any registration package.

Sigma Kappa’s Bylaws designates who can attend convention as a voting delegate. Collegiate and alumnae chapter delegates are elected by their chapters, while other delegates are designated by virtue of the national office held. It is an honor and a responsibility to be selected as a convention delegate, and to participate in the decision-making process of the Sorority. Each delegate should be mindful of their responsibilities: • Be in good financial standing with the national organization and her

chapter to attend convention. • Register for convention by the deadline date, with fees paid. • Before arrival at convention, review the Sigma Kappa Bylaws. Read

and discuss any proposed amendments with your chapter, as well as the proposed slate for national council.

• Review parliamentary procedure.

One elected delegate from each collegiate chapter is the first collegiate delegate. Collegiate chapters are encouraged to designate the chapter president as the first delegate. Collegiate chapter delegates are required to return to the chapter for one full year of active membership, and to present information from convention to the chapter by Sept. 30, 2018.
