SPECIFICATIONS

1.0 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

1.1 Definitions

These definitions refer to the Specification, Drawings, Conditions of Contract and Bill ofQuantities for this Contract only.

'Ancillary Works' eans all appliances or things of whatsoe!er nature re"uired to #e installedor constructed on under in or through the Site and which are to reain on Site and #ecoethe property of the $ngineer in accordance with the Contract upon the issue of a Certificateof Copletion in respect of the Site operations or section or part thereof as the case ay #e.

'$"uipent' eans any appliances or things of whatsoe!er nature re"uired teporarily forcarrying out the Site %perations #ut does not include anything which fors part of theAncillary Works.

'Test' or 'Bore &ole' or '$ploratory &ole' eans any kind of hole ade to eplore groundconditions or for any other reason whatsoe!er.

'(a#oratory Testing' eans the testing operations and processes necessary for thepreparation of the )eport to #e carried out in accordance with the Contract at a la#oratoryappro!ed #y the $ngineer on saples and cores o#tained during the Site %perations andstrictly in accordance with specifications.

')eport' or '*actual )eport' eans the report to #e prepared and su#itted in accordance

with the Contract.

'Appendi' eans the lists of Site %perations, (a#oratory Testing and other re"uireentsreferred to in the Specification.

'Site %perations' eans all the work of e!ery kind including Ancillary works re"uired to #ecarried out on under in or through the Site in accordance with the Contract.

1.2 Works

Scope of works are specified in Drawings +o. to and Bill %f Quantities.

1.3 Programme to be furnise!

ediately on the acceptance of his Tender, the Contractor shall su#it to the $ngineer forhis appro!al a prograe showing the order of procedure and ethod on which theContractor intends to supply, use or construct as the case ay #e. The su#ission andappro!al #y the $ngineer of such prograe or particulars shall not relie!e the Contractor ofhis duties or responsi#ilities under the Contract.

1.' Setting Out An! Taking (e)e*s

The $ngineer shall pro!ide the Contractor with ade"uate #ench arks, peranent groundarkers and8or other inforation sufficient for the Contractor to set out the whole of the site%perations in accordance with Clause 9 of the Conditions of Contract.

The Contractor shall esta#lish the position of each $ploratory &ole, and shall confir theposition of each $ploratory &ole with the $ngineer prior to coencing any Site %perations

at that location.

)educed le!els shall #e easured #y the Contractor for all locations of $ploratory &oles ortest locations. The teporary #ench arks used shall follow those gi!en in the original siteplan if the #ench arks are gi!en. %therwise they shall #e #ased on peranent features onsite. :nder no circustances shall reduced le!els #e gi!en #y interpolating lines on the siteplan.

1.+ Su&&*, of E-ui&ment /ateria*s an! (abour

The Contractor shall supply and pro!ide all the $"uipent, la#our and aterials necessaryfor eecution of the Works and Ancillary Works including the super!ision thereof, transport

to or fro the Site and in and a#out the works and other things of e!ery kind re"uired for theconstruction, copletion and aintenance of the works.

1.0 Wat$ing an! (igting

The Contractor shall in connection with the works pro!ide and aintain all lights, guards,fencing and watching when and where necessary or re"uired #y the $ngineer or #y anycopetent statutory #odies or other authority for the protection of the works or for the safetyand con!enience of the pu#lic or others.
