SENIORS On Monday, March 16, Reedley College and Fresno City College will be on campus to register seniors for the Fall 2015 semester. EACH SENIOR NEEDS TO ATTEND HIS/HER  ASSIGNED TIME NO MATTER IF HE/SH E PLANS TO ATTEND A UC/CSU/PRIVATE COLLEGE/MILITARY /WORK. The Counseling Department’s p hilosophy is that all seniors will register for classes with either Reedley College or Fresno City College. Attending a community college can be a student’s “Plan A” or “Plan B” or “Plan C.” etc. If you wish to attend Reedley College, please report to the Library at the beginning of your designated time slot. If you wish to attend Fresno City College, please report to the Dining Hall at the beginning of your designated time slot. Following is the breakdown (by last name) of each advising time slot: 8:00 a.m.  10:00 a.m. A-Garnica 10:00 a.m.  12:00 p.m. Gill   P 1:00 p.m.  3:00 p.m. Q  Z PROM Reminder: Prom tickets will go on sale to all eligible juniors and seniors beginning next Thursday, March 19 until Friday, March 27. Guest passes are due no later th an tomorrow at 3:30pm. Ticket prices are ASB $60, ID $70, and $80 for approved guests. Students can sign up for dinner tables af ter purchasing tickets on a firs t come, first serve basis. 10 guests are seated at each table and no seats will be held so try to purchase your tickets together if you’d like to sit together. Students will be asked to nominate a junior and senior male and female for Prom King Queen and Junior Prom Prince and Princess when buying their ticket. You must be present at the time you r ticket is being purchased to nominate. The top 4 vote getters that will be attending Prom will b e placed on a ballot the day of the eve nt.   • CAMP ROYAL Every year the Selma Rotary looks to send two female and two male Selma High School juniors to Camp Royal. This is an all-expense-paid leadership experience at Lake Sequoia

    with 200 young student leaders from over 60 high schools from within Monterey, Fresno,

    Kings, and Tulare Counties. The camp will take place this year for June 13 - June 18. Students can pick up an application in the Student office or download the application from

    our school website. Camp Royal applications are due to Ms. DeCanio in room 1005 by Monday, March 16. Dont miss out on this once in a lifetime opportunity!

    LIBRARY The library will be closed today during 5th period, sorry for any inconvenience.

    OPEN HOUSE All students are encouraged to invite you parents and relatives to Open House tonight from 6:00 p.m. 7:30 p.m. Teachers will be in their rooms to briefly meet with parents. Special performances throughout the evening will occur along with the Doctors Academy Health Faire in the caf.

    CLUB LATINO Members be sure to turn in your snack pack money in by tomorrow!!

    SENIORS Josten's will be on campus during lunch today and tonight at Open House to take last

    minute orders for senior items. If you have not places an order for cap and gown please take advantage of this opportunity.

    ALL STUDENTS Due to the CAHSEE tests, Tuesday, March 17 will be a regular schedule instead of a flex day

    and Wednesday, March 18 will be a regular schedule day and not a tutorial day.

    SENIORS Attention Seniors! The adult CNA course for 2015 registration has begun. If you would like

    to take the summer CNA class please contact Mrs. S Chambers (Nursing Instructor) for more details.

    CAR SHOW Applications for the 2015 car show are available in the student office on the counter.

    ALL STUDENTS Attention Students: It is suggested that you carry your bags with you at all times, Staff is not able to open the classrooms during lunch or afterschool to retrieve your

    Bag/Instruments/Sports Gear or anything else left in the classroom. It is your responsibility to carry your items with you at all times.

    BOOK FAIR The Scholastic Book Fair is here! This week only March 9th -13th theres something for

    everyone! Adventure, sci-fi, best-selling, and even laugh-out-loud stories. ! The Book Fair will be open before school, first thirty minutes of lunch and thirty minutes after school

    Monday through Thursday. Everyones also invited to our Scholastic Book Fair Family Event, March 12th from 6:30-8pm. Family members of all ages are welcome! Make sure to

    remind your parents!

    FOR SENIORS Young Ambassadors Program for Seniors: The Smithsonian Latino Center is now accepting applications for the 2015 Young Ambassadors Program June 21 through July 31.

    The application deadline is April 6, before 5 p.m. EDT. The Young Ambassadors Program

    is a national program for graduating high school seniors aimed at fostering the next generation of Latino leaders in the arts, sciences and humanities via the Smithsonian and its

    resources. For more information see Ms. Loving.

  • SOPHOMORE The class officers of 2016 are looking for sophomores to serve as Sophomore Attendants to

    ATTENDENTS assist w/prom. Applications are available now in the student office. Priority is given to those running for Junior class officer position. Applications are due Friday!

    CHEER How would you like to be a SHS cheerleader? Pick up a cheer packet on the counter in the

    student office. Cheer packets are due BY tomorrow no later than 4:30pm. Go Bears!

    POWDER PUFF Attention Ladies: If you are interested in playing Powder Puff this year, your $25 for the

    jersey is due to Gina Gonzalez in the finance office before March 27th. If you would like to fundraise for the jersey, please see Ms. DeCanio in room 1005. The last day to order is

    March 27th. Numbers are on a 1st come, 1st serve basis.

    ATHLETIC Basketball and Wrestling pictures are in and can be picked up at the athletic window before PICTURES school, at break, lunch or after school with Ms. Bonilla

    TALENT SHOW Thank you to all who came out to audition for this years Talent Show. A list of acts that

    will be in this years show is posted outside room 1005. Only 11 acts were selected to move forward. The Talent Show will take place next Friday, March 20 at 6:30 pm in the SHS

    Gym. Admission is $5, $3 for students with a current SHS ASB Card. A dance from 8:30-

    10:30 pm will follow. Students who attend the Talent Show will be admitted free into the dance

    RAISIN ROYALTY The city of Selma is looking for Raisin Royalty Candidates. If you would like to earn some

    money and a possible scholarship please contact the Selma Chamber at 891-2235. Candidates must be between 16 and 23 years of age by May 1, 2015.
