SHOWER PANEL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS & OWNER’S GUIDE INTRODUCTION Thank you for choosing this shower panel. Before proceeding with installation, please read these instructions carefully. 1.We strongly recommend that this product is installed by a qualified professional contractor, such as a plumber who is certified by NVQ (National Vocational Qualification) or SNVQ (Scottish National Vocational Qualification) Level 3. 2.All showers should be installed in accordance with building regulations and water bye-laws. For further details, refer to the latest copy of the Water Bye-laws guide or your local water authority. 3.The product must be checked immediately after purchase to ensure it is not damaged and is complete. Please ensure it is the correct model and you have all the parts required for installation and use. In the event of damage or discrepancy, please contact your authorised retailer immediately. The product must remain in its original packaging until it is ready to be installed. 4.These instructions provide a step-by-step guide to installation. Please read the manual carefully in advance to ensure you have all the tools necessary to complete each stage. 5.To ensure personal protection, safety glasses must be worn at all times during installation. 6.The water system must be flushed before installation to ensure that no metal swarf, solder and other impurities can enter the shower once installed. 7.The water supply must be turned off. This should be done at the isolating valves of inlet feeds if fitted or the main stopcock. 8.The installation instructions must be retained and left with the user for future reference. The correct position for installation of the shower panel will be determined by the height of the user(s). Cut the existing plumbing pipe if necessary. The plumbing connectors (COMP ½” x ½” MIP) are suitable for connection to most modern plumbing systems. If your system does not have these connections, the wall may have to be opened and the connections changed for the shower panel to be installed successfully. We recommend situating the cold (B) and hot (A) water outlets in one of the positions indicated with the symbol (Φ Φ) with outlet pipes of 14mm. Next to the wall, 2 x 1/2” in-line ball-o-fix valves (not included) should be fitted, allowing shutdown of water supply for ease of maintenance in the future. Thereafter 2 x 1/2” male/female compression elbows (not included) should be installed. The minimum pressure in the hot water must be 3 bar. The minimum pressure in the cold water must be 5 bar. Plastic pegs (supplied) Support steel wall plates (supplied) Screws (supplied) Sealing rings (supplied) Hose clamp (optional) Drill Pencil Wrench Level Key to pipe Tape measure Hacksaw NB. Other tools may be required depending on installation type. PRIOR TO INSTALLATION Ensure that the wall the shower panel will be fixed to can support a load of 12KG. The desired location for the shower panel must be free from obstruction. PRODUCT FEATURES Premium Ceramic cartridges Brass Thermostatic Cartridges Universal ½” (15mm connections) Pressure (minimum and maximum – 2bar/6bar) Maximum water consumption - 18 liters per minute INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS ENSURE THE HOT AND COLD WATER VALVES ARE IN THE CLOSED POSITION BEFORE COMMENCING WORK ON THE PLUMBING SYSTEM. Step 1: Preparing the plumbing system for new or existing constructions. 1.For new constructions, the pipe ends must be ½” BSP and oriented 90° facing downwards. If this step is not followed correctly, the joints of the shower panel may fold and the water required for the correct function of the shower panel will overflow. The risk of broken pipes will increase by not following these instructions and further damage may also be caused. 2.For existing constructions, please follow the steps below. A.All elements of old shower panels and hand showers must be removed. B.No pipework inside the wall will be used for the operation of the shower panel with the exception of the hot and cold water feeds. C.Any remaining holes from the old shower must be sealed to prevent water ingress. D.Fittings with ½” BSP threads, oriented 90° facing downwards must now be used for the new shower panel connection. 3.CLOSE THE HOT AND COLD WATER VALVES BEFORE COMMENCING WORK ON THE PLUMBING SYSTEM. Step 2: Mounting the shower panel on the wall. NOTE: •Two people are required to measure for this stage of installation. •Do not connect the hose before installing the steel wall support. •The recommended distance between the user and the rain shower head is 18”. A.One person is required to hold the shower panel up to the wall, whilst the other marks the wall with a pencil to show where the shower panel begins. Please see letter B on the diagram. B.Measure the distance between the bottom of the shower panel and the horizontal surface. This measurement is BC – the distance between the ground and the bottom of the shower panel. C.Drill the wall for the installation with steel wall support. Use a level to ensure the mark on the medium steel wall is horizontal. Avoid overtightening the screw. Photo for installation reference only NB. FOR THE DRILLING OF CERAMICS, MARBLE AND OTHER STONE, A SUITABLE MASONRY DRILL BIT SHOULD BE USED. D. Before hanging the shower column, please ensure that the supports are securely fitted and can support the weight of the shower column after installation. QUICK INSTALLATION TIPS Step 1: Measure the distance between the two supports at the rear (see Pic. 1). Step 2: Drill holes in the wall for the two brackets using the distance measured in Step 1 Step 3: Insert the plastic pegs into the wall followed by the screws and tighten whilst holding the bracket (see Pic. 2). Step 4: Assemble the shower holder, hand shower and top rain shower before connecting to the main body. Step 5: Mount the shower panel with the shower hose attachment mounted to the wall. Step 6: Connect the hot and cold water pipes. GUIDE TO SHOWER PANEL FUNCTIONS (NB. Functions vary by model) 1. Top rain shower (see figure 1) 2. Waterfall shower (see figure 2) 3.
