Speaking Out with Confidence

We were extremely proud of our Year 5 team who represented Shoscombe School at the annual Midsomer Norton Schools

Partnership Trust Speak Out Competition. Tilly, Luca and Pheobe spoke for and

against trophy hunting. They had researched this issue thoroughly and then presented their speech with confidence and conviction. They have been awarded

£100 for the school as a ‘well done’.

Shrove Tuesday Fun!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for

pancake races on Shrove Tuesday. It was a fun way to mark the start of Lent. Children have

reflected on the reasons why we have pancakes on Shrove Tuesday and what Lent means to

Christians. If your child is giving up something for Lent then please support and encourage them. Some children are choosing to ‘go the

extra mile’ or offer acts of kindness throughout Lent. Please let us know if your child is pushing

themselves to ‘shine’ this Lent so we can encourage them and celebrate this in school.

Erasmus Updates We are delighted to have been awarded the Etwinning label from the UK National Erasmus Agency in recognition of all the work that has gone into the Etwinning platform for our current Erasmus project, Respect, Reuse, Recycle. You can look at some of this fantastic project work by accessing the link through our school website or via

https://twinspace.etwinning.net/77138/home We are excited to be travelling to N. Ireland very soon with 4 pupils where we will be visiting Stormont, the Giants Causeway and working with our Erasmus partners from across Europe on all aspects of our project- Respect, Reuse, Recycle. Look out for our trip reports when we return.

FoSSA Updates Thank you to everyone on the FoSSA team who is working behind the scenes to plan fund raising events and experiences for our children. Thank you to Prior Park Garden Centre who donated compost for the school’s

spiritual and sensory garden. Our amazing gardening club volunteers will be planting this area up in the coming weeks. If your child would like to join gardening club please let the office know. If you have compost or plants you could donate we will happily accept them! Thank you!

Please be assured that we have spoken to every

class about the importance of washing

their hands properly. We have stocked up on soap

and everyone is being especially vigilant about

this. Click HERE to watch a video about how

to wash your hands.
