Sharing ParametersBob Clark, MISER Development Director

HOW DO OUR CLIENTS USE THE SYSTEM?

3

• Parameters– What parameters are most common?– How much do they differ between clients, banks, and credit unions?– What values are not being used?

• Transactions– What transactions are most common?– What transactions are being used by channel?– Are employee transactions performed in a specific sequence?

PARAMETERS

PARAMETERS

5

• MISER is a parameter driven system– 3,646 association parameters– 86 PCD account type parameters– 93 PLN ML account type parameters – 93 PLN IL account type parameters – 93 PLN OL account type parameters – 93 PLN CL account type parameters – 24 PLY account type parameters– 108 PND account type parameters– 190 PNL account type parameters– 80 PSV account type parameters– 711 WXP parameters

PARAMETERS

6

• After removing association specific fields (regions, dates, security code) resulted in 2,447 association parameters that were analyzed.– We identified the most common parameters in use at banks and credit unions.– The most common values at banks and credit unions are the same in 2,339 of the parameters.

• The most common values at banks and credit unions are the same on 446 of the WXP parameters.

• We identified 1,105 options that are not being used by any clients.

PARAMETERS

• Benefits– We are updating our development and QA environments to reflect the most common

parameters. Improve quality.– Provided reports to customer care, development, and implementations to assist in

troubleshooting issues, defining enhancements, and setting up new clients. Improve support– Reviewing options that are not being used to reduce and streamline the code base. Improve

quality.

• Future Analysis– Reward Parameters– Service Charge Parameters– ATM Parameters

• Account Summary Data– What specific account field values are being used?– What database fields are not being used?– How many UDD fields are used?

TRANSACTIONS

TRANSACTIONS

11

• MISER is an online system with 4000+ transactions defined

• Analyzed one month from 3 service bureau environments– 4 transactions accounted for more than 50% of all activity– 11 transactions accounted for more than 75% of all activity– 16 transactions accounted for more than 80% of all activity– 44 transactions accounted for more than 90% of all activity– 89 transactions accounted for more than 95% of all activity– 239 transactions accounted for more than 99% of all activity– 760 transactions accounted for more than 99.99% of all activity
