Responsible for the following functional areas: acquisitions, cataloging, authority control, database maintenance, metadata and cataloging portal, preservation, and government documents processing.

Collection Management Librarian, University of South Carolina at Spartanburg Library, reported to Dean of the Library. Fully participated in the University of Montana’s Capital Campaign, 2013 – present, with the following major outcomes:

o Recently received an un-specified amount from a passing professor whose

annuity will be given to the library as an endowed fund. o Received two pledges, over $300,000 in 2017. o $200,000 Received as a planned gift for an acquisitions endowment fund in 2017. o $210,000 raised/received from July 2016 through June 2017, according to the

UM Foundation’s Comprehensive Fundraising report. o $52,000 received from a donor for an endowed fund to support annual awards of

the library’s student assistants in collaboration with the UM College of Forestry in 2014.

o $850,000 received from the former Montana’s Senator Max Baucus in 2014 to help process his political papers being housed at the UM Libraries.

o $3 million planned gift was finalized in 2014 from a long-time library supporter who is a UM alumnus.

o Several annuity giving of $150,000 and over from individual donors in 2013- 2017.

o Established a Mansfield Library Circle to secure giving members who contribute at least $1,000 per year since 2013.

o Re-connected with over 120 individual donors through numerous channels, including a donor-focused newsletter, Connections, at http://www.lib.umt.edu/about/newsletters/default.php

RESEARCH AND PROGRAM GRANTS AWARDED

2014 Under my leadership role, in 2014, the Mansfield Library at the University of Montana applied and received its first major federal grant, $50,000, from Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) National Leadership Grant, for a digital humanities project, The Electronic Irish Research Experience, to establish a national model for conveying Irish American experience through an effective combination of primary source content and

2002 Principal investigator in the grant of $2,000 in May 2002 from South Dakota State

Historical Records Advisory Board (SHRAB) for conducting a pre-conference workshop on preservation held on October 2, 2002 at the Mountain Plains Library Association (MPLA) Annual Conference in Fargo, North Dakota. The pre-conference workshop was co-sponsored by the MPLA Preservation, Archives, and Special Collections Section. I was the section chair for 2001-2002, wrote the grant proposal, and carried out the planned activities.

2000 Principal investigator on the Amigos Year 2000 Fellowship Award, funded with $1,470,

May 2000: “Effectiveness of Technical Services Staff Training and Development in Selected Academic Libraries in Arkansas, Kansas, and Oklahoma.” The project was completed in December 2002.

2000 Wichita State University Research/Creative Projects Award, funded with $3,870.00,

October 2000, for a project on “Authority Control: Cost, Staff Needs, and Impact on Access” at Wichita State University Libraries. The project was completed and the final report was submitted in October 2000. An article based on this research grant was published in September 2001 in College & Research Libraries.

1998 Principal investigator on the University of South Carolina Teaching Improvement Grant Award, funded with $1,250.00, October 1998, for a study on collection management in small and medium-sized university libraries. The study was completed, reported at a professional conference, and published in the conference proceedings.
