Product description.The MSD 1 is a new range of highly flexibleservo drives, designed to integrate a widerange of functionality into a compact,monoblock package. Suitable for drivingbrushed and brushless servo motors, with a
selectable combination of high-resolutionposition, velocity and torque control modes,the MSD 1 can serve as the standard coredrive module in integrated manufacturinginstallations, helping to significantly reduceinstallation, maintenance and spares-holding overheads.
To complement its flexible motor drivecapability, the MSD 1 incorporates acomprehensive suite of I/O handlingfunctions. The motor Set Point signal can beinput via differential analogue or CAN-busconnection, with motor dynamic feedbackcoming from resolver, encoder, sinusoidalencoder, DC-tacho generator or EMFsensing devices. Additional machine controlfunctions are supported by on-boardanalogue and digital I/O. To further enhancethe control system design, drive power canbe supplied by direct 230V or 400V ACconnection, with integral CE filtering andbraking resistors simplifying the design ofthe control cabinet and further reducingcosts.

Product summary.The SMV series are Infranors range ofsingle and multi-axes speed control servodrives, designed for use with DCpermanent magnet servo motors. The SMVrange was specifically designed for use inrugged industrial applications and has beenwell-tested through field experience, with aproven record of reliability.
The drives, which are available in a numberof ranges from 240 W up to 15kW, use ahighly efficient (better than 98%) PulseWidth Modulated (PWM) torque and speedcontrol system to provide very accuratemotion control. Their modular designenables several drives of different size tobe combined within the same rack. Aregenerative braking system can beincorporated within the rack, enablingtransfer of power between drives through acommon power supply. These capabilitiesenable very efficient single and multi-axesinstallations to be developed.
In addition to high flexibility, the SMV seriesoffers high levels of dynamic stability. Theuse of precision components enable highlevels of controlled motion performance tobe achieved. The SMV has a range ofpower supply options with 48 240 VACsingle phase, three phase and low-voltage
DC versions being available.

SMV series servo drives incorporate all thestandard interfaces of a speed controlservo amplifier, including dual demandinputs (10vDC maximum), externalcurrent limit input, plus programmable limitswitch. On-board status LEDs mounted onthe front of the drive allow operators toquickly monitor system status and a rangeof hardware option boards enableadditional functions to be implemented,including:
