SERVICE AREA: AT-RISK CHILDREN AND YOUTH

(101 E. Colonial Dr., Orlando)

Each year, Boys & Girls Clubs of

Central Florida serves nearly 13,000

youth between the ages of 6 and 18,

and provides them with a safe place to

learn and grow. Our mission is to

inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged

circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and

caring citizens. Do you have smiles and energy to share? Do you have a

special interest that you’d love to teach to others? Are you looking to plan a

special activity for children with your group? Would you like to make a

positive influence in the lives of children? If you’ve answered “yes” to any

of these questions, we’d love to welcome you to our Clubs as a volunteer!

There are many volunteer opportunities that can be tailored to the specific

skills and talents of the volunteer and to the needs of the organization

including mentoring, tutoring, refereeing or throwing a party. For more

information on how you can volunteer, please contact our Volunteer

Coordinator, Shannon Yohe, at 407.841.6855 or [email protected].

needy. At present, that

target is the homeless

of downtown Orlando. We seek to represent Christ on our streets and in

encourage life change from the inside out. Through SSO, we currently host

two food shares a week, Sundays at 6pm and Tuesdays at 6:30pm. Both

food shares take place in downtown Orlando at the St. George Orthodox

Church parking lot on 24 North Rosalind Avenue. We welcome individuals,

families, small groups, youth groups, students and churches to join us. We

always need plenty of hands to help with distribution of dinnerware, drinks

and plates of food. We have live worship music and a brief message. Most

importantly, we encourage all of our volunteers to foster relationships with

our homeless friends. For more information, visit: http://

SERVICE AREA: HUNGER (816 W. Central Blvd, Orlando)

Compelled by the love of Christ, the Christian Service Center seeks to

mobilize the Central Florida community under one common mission -- to

eradicate poverty through the provision of services and resources that foster

which you can help those in the Central Florida community who are

struggling.

• Blue Bags

Go Blue and feed a family right here in Central Florida! We have

blue reusable canvas bags ready for distribution as part of our

Family & Emergency Services ministry. Our food pantries are

hungry families. Call 407-425-2523x232 to reserve your Blue

Bags that are available for pick up at any of our 3 locations.

Share the spirit of giving and distribute the Blue Bags to your

church group, friends or co-workers. Fill the Blue Bags with

nonperishable food items and return them to any of our locations.

• The Love Pantry

is an initiative of the Christian Service Center, in partnership with

Orange County Public Schools. It places emergency food in the

schools – and into the hands of students. Many of the students we

serve receive their only nutritious meal(s) of the day at the school

cafeteria. Often, their families are facing extremely limited

financial resources, and may be homeless, living in a shelter, in a

hotel, or in the family car. Each program school is provided with a

cabinet stocked with emergency food and basic hygiene items, and

is restocked weekly by volunteers. If you would like to help with

the Love Pantry, email: [email protected]

or call: 407-425-2523 x232.

way to needy children around the world. Since 1993, the Samaritan’s Purse

Individuals, families and groups are encouraged to pick up their shoeboxes

at Center Pointe, fill them with gifts of toys, school supplies, hygiene items

and notes of encouragement., Then return them to the church to be picked

up. Samaritan’s Purse collects the gift-filled shoeboxes at more than 3,500

SERVICE AREA: CHRISTMAS

(9580 Curry Ford Rd, Orlando)

One of the most rewarding activities you

can be involved with during the

Christmas Season is the GIFT of HOPE.

Every year, Center Pointe Church

partners with a number of our

neighborhood schools to identify families in need. Our goal is to provide

gifts to over 100 children throughout our community. It is through your

love and generosity that these children will enjoy Christmas. Volunteers are

needed to bring unwrapped gifts for children (age birth through 12 years),

donate dollars for toys and gift cards, request donations from businesses,

and volunteer your time to serve these families on the day they come to pick

up their gifts. For more information on how you can help, contact

Debbie Myers at 407-740-8111 or [email protected]
