NAP CO CRAB Of ERA TING INSTRUCTIONS OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS - GENERAL
Pre-Start Check
1. Make complete lubrication check. Refer to lubrication chart.
2. Check coolant level in radiator.
3. Check battery to be sure plates are covered with water.
4. Check tire pressure. If heavy attachments have been installed, pressure should be increased by 5 to 10 lbs. according to working conditions or tire manufacturer I s recommendations.
Tire Size Normal'Pressure MaxiplUm Pressure 14.9 24 241bs. --2"9llis. 13:00 x 24 25 Ibs. 30 lbs. 12:00 x 24 30 lbs. 35 Ibs.
Starting 10:00 x 24 35 lbs. 40 Ibs.
1. Open fuel line to engine.
2. Set transmission shift lever in neutral.
3. Advance throttle slightly and turn on ignition key.
4. Press starter button.
5. As soon as engine starts, check engine oil pressure and ammeter.
6. Consult engine manual for complete description of engine operation.
Operation
1. Release parking brake.
2. Turn steering wheel until wheels are straight, then select type of steering by positioning steering selector lever. For road travel use front wheel steer only. For work applications where maneuverability is required, use 4-wheel steer. Oblique steer gives the tractor a sideways movement. Always straighten the wheels before selecting another type of steering unless it is desirable to offset rear of ,tractor. When in front wheel steer, the wheels can be straightened by sight, when in 4-wheel or oblique, the" whee Is can be straightened by aligning the end of drag link at left rear wheel with pointer on frame.
3. Shift transmission to speed desired as shown on instrument panel.
4. IMPORTANT..., Be sure ha~dthrottle control lever is in engine idle position before engaging forward or reverse pedals.
l. 3.1
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS NAP CO CRAB OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Operation (Continued)
5. To move forward, slowly depr.ess outside or right-hand pedal of pair located at right foot of operator. Initial movement of pedal engages clutch and the remaining movement accelerates the engine. To stop, remove foot from forward pedaland depress foot brake pedal located·at left foot of operator. It is not necessary to return transmission shift lever to neutral unless operator leaves tractor unattended.
6. To move in reverse, slowly depress inside, or left-hand pedal of pair located at right foot of operator. Operation is same as operation in forward.
7. Always slow motion of tractor with foot brake before reversing direction.' Reversals under full power can cause damage to gear train.
B. Return clutch pedals to neutral position before shifting transmission.
9. If excessive torque converter slippage is experienced, shift to lower gear to avoid overheating. (Indicated by warning light on dash.)
10. Consult Revers-O-Matic drive service section for furtner description of Revers-O-Matic operation.
11. If engine acceleration is required without movement of the tractor, use accelerator located between forward and reverse pedals.
12. If constant engine speed is required without movement of the tractor, set hand throttle at required engine speed. Engine governor will maintain constant RPM.
13. When parking, or when tractor is left unattended, any attachments mounted on the tractor,. should be lowered to the ground.
14. Place transmission shift lever in neutral.
15. Set parking brake by raising parking brake lever and depressing foot brake pedal. If additional braking force is required, first depress foot brake pedal, then raise parking brake lever.
16. Turnoff ignition key.
17. lfJractor is to be left for a considerable length of time, shut off fuel at sediment bulb under fuel tank.
