In modification of Government Notification No. 9819, dated the 19th November 1919, Major J. B. Christian, i.M.S., was granted leave of absence as specified below:?

Furlough on full average salary with effect frcfm 27th

January 1920 to 26th May 1920, both days inclusive. Furlough with effect from 27th May 1920 to 9th

In modification of Government Notification No. 6666, dated the 23rd June, 1920, Lieutenant-Colonel H. A. F.

Knapton, i.m.s.., was granted, with effect from the date of relief, such privilege leave of absence as was due

to him on that date in combination with furlough on

average salary admissible to him and ordinary furlough for such period as might bring the combined period of

absence up to one year.

Major R. F. D. MacGrEgor, Indian Medical Service, Medical Officer, His Britannic Majesty's Consulate for

Sistaa and Kain, is appointed to officiate as His

Britannic Majesty's Consul for Sistan and Kain, in

addition to his own duties, with effect from the 17th

January 1921, and until further orders.

Lieutenant-Colonel F. A. Smith, Indian Medical

Service (Bombay), an Agency Surgeon, is posted as

Residency Surgeon at Hyderabad, with effect from the

1st February 1921.

Major-General W. R. Edwards, c.bv c.m.g., m.d.,

k.h.p., i.m.s., Director-General, Indian Medical Service, is granted privilege leave for six months, with effect

from the 15th March 1921, or the subsequent date on

which he may avail himself of it.

Major-General W. H. B. Robinson, c.b., i.m.s., Sur-

geon-General with the Government of Bengal, is appoint- ed to officiate as Director-General, Indian Medical Ser-

vice, during the absence on leave of Major-General W. R.

Edwards, c.b., c.m.g., m.d., k.h.p., i.m.s., with effect from

the date on which he assumes charge of that office.

Lieutenant-Colonel W. H. Dickinson, m.b., b.cIi.

In pursuance of provisions of paragraph 2 of the

Regulations of the Bihar and Orissa Medical Examina- tion Board, the Government of Bihar and Orissa in the

Ministry of Local Self-Government are pleased to appoint Lt.-Col. J. J. Urwin, i.m.s., as a member of the said Board in place of Lt.-Col. M. II. Thornley proceeding on leave.

In pursuance of provisions of section 7 of the Bihar and Orissa Mcdical Act (Bihar and Orissa Act II of

1916), it is hereby notified that Lt.-Col. J. J. Urwin,

i.m.s., has been nominated to be a member of the Bihar and Orissa Council of Medical Registration in

place of Lt.-Col. M. H. Thornley, m.d., i.m.s.

In exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 2 (5) of the Bengal Military Police Act (Act V of 1892), the Governor in Council is pleased to appoint Lt.-Col. R. H. Maddox, c.i.B., m.b., i.m.s., Superintendent of the Central Jail, Hazaribagh, to be second in Command of the Military Police stationed at' Hazaribagh.

Under Section 6 of the Prisons Act, 1894, His Ex- cellency the Governor in Council is pleased to appoint Llt.-Col. P. K. Chitale, l.R.c.p., l.R.c.s., l.f,p,s? l.m, & s, i.m.s., Civil Surgeon, Chhindwara. to the executive and medical charge of the Chhindwara District Jail.

On return from military duty, Lt.-Col. W. H. Kenrick, l.r.c.p., m.r.c.s? d.t.m., i.m.s,, is posted to Jubbulpore as Civil Surgeon.

On relief by Lt.-Col. W. H. Kenrick. l.r.c.p., m.r.c.S., p.t.m., i.m.s., Major W. Tarr, m.d., f.r.c.s., Civil Surgeon, Jubbulpore, is transferred to Hoshangabad.
