WorleyParsonsn service awards booklet 2010.TRANSCRIPT
YOU ARE THE KEY TO OUR ONGOING SUCCESS...
I want to offer my sincere appreciation to all of the 2010 service
award recipients. The years that you’ve invested in WorleyParsons
(and its legacy organizations) reflect a high level of commitment
and I’m sure your individual contributions have been key to the
success we’ve collectively achieved over the years. Thanks for all
you’ve done. We owe you our gratitude and respect.
So on behalf of all your friends and colleagues at WorleyParsons,
congratulations on achieving this major milestone! We hope we
will have many more years working together.
BRIAN FAULKNERSenior VPWorleyParsons Calgary
My five years (and counting) at Colt WorleyParsons has been a great
learning experience in many ways. I am proud to work with the staff in
my department, whose dedication and effort often go beyond the call
of duty.
JAMES BALLARD
All the ups and downs, the challenges and triumphs for the past five
years...it ’s been an interesting five years to say the least. I take them all as
part of growth. From micro-to-macro-thinking, the company will move
on and I hope to be part of the progress.
EVELYN SIMBOL
I have enjoyed and embraced the changes, challenges and opportunities
during my five years at WorleyParsons. It is exciting to be working for such
a well-respected, global and multicultural company that is committed to
the success of its customers and employees.
BRENDA DAVIS
In the last five years I had the opportunity to share my ideas and see them
implemented. As Pericles said 2500 years ago, “Having knowledge but
lacking the power to express it clearly is no better than never having any
ideas at all.” Thanks for giving me the opportunity.

How the time flies...I have had the honour of participating in the growth
and development of the company. The most important aspect over the
past ten years was being a part of the wonderful company culture and
work environment. With all the lovely memories I have gathered, the
experience will truly be cherished.
YAFEI ZHENG
One winter morning in January 2000, refreshing clouds of dawn and a
ride on the C-train ferried me to a downtown office of Colt Engineering.
Days, weeks, months and years have flown past like telegraph poles on a
picturesque journey - a journey of growth and strength. As I stand storing
the magnificent memories, a sense of pride and accomplishment engulfs
me. I remember the Stalwarts who were my mentors and leaders, and I
am honoured to be a part of my WorleyParsons family.
JUDY GORDON
Working for 11 years with this company, I have met many wonderful
people and formed life-long friendships. It never ceases to amaze me
how I continually bump into fellow staff outside of office hours. Whether
it be in Calgary, in the mountains or even on a holiday, the WorleyParsons
family continues to grow and I look forward to many years of new
friendships.

When I started with this company, it was a pivotal time in my life and
I really needed the chance to start fresh. And that’s exactly what I was
given, some genuinely great opportunities and the good fortune to have
some really special people mentor me over the years. I never thought
I would be the type of person who could spend 15 years at the same
company, but working here has become so much a part of who I am, and
in very many ways, I’ve grown up here. I have learned so much and I will
always be grateful for the friends and experiences along the way.
KATHY HAWRELAK
15 years and hundreds of people, some smart, some exceptional. But all
were good, hard-working people. No project was too small or too big. All
projects became “our” projects. I was, and I am proud to be, part of Colt
WorleyParsons “League of Extraordinary Ladies and Gentlemen”.
ROMAN MARUT
In my 15 years at Komex International, and now WorleyParsons, I have
worked with a lot of great people on a wide variety of challenging and
interesting projects. I have had the opportunity to work in Canada, the
US, the Middle East and Australia with teams of talented and highly
motivated professionals. Change is inevitable and I have been fortunate
to become part of a forward-looking organization that is in a strong
position to take on some of the biggest engineering and environmental
projects out there.

During my 20 years at WorleyParsons, not only have I had the
opportunity to work in exciting places that others only dream of, but
also in even more exotic locations that most people have never heard
of: the Hadramaut Province of Yemen, the Mangochi District of Malawi,
Aceh Province in Indonesia, the Negev Desert of Israel, and the Toliara
Province of Madagascar. And I always travel with the best geophysical
staff on this planet.
PAUL BAUMAN
During my 20 years at Colt/WorleyParsons, I have had the pleasure of
working with many exceptional people. We have seen a lot of ups and
downs with regards to workload and staffing; however, I can honestly say
that the personal friendships I have developed over the years are truly the
most memorable part of working here.

Little did I know when I started in the mail room 25 years ago that I would end up being with the company so long. I remember the late nights on proposals that sometimes only left time to run home, shower and come back with zero sleep. It is true satisfaction to realize now, that not only was it a sign of the times to get work any way we could,
but that it played a role in assisting the company’s growth to the success it is today.
JODI HUTCHISON
25 years! Seems like yesterday when I first started with the company. I still remember when we got our first computers, floppy disks and all. The name on the door may be different, and technology is always changing, but it ’s the people you work with along the way that makes it all worthwhile.
BEN MARTINBEAULT
It has been an amazing 25 years! I have seen the company grow from a few hundred people in Alberta to what it is today. I feel very fortunate to have been given many challenging opportunities that have led me through much growth, all the while working
with many exceptional individuals. I hope my next 10 years will be just as amazing.
WENDY WILLIAMSON
THIRTY YEARS! Wow, that’s a long time. When I started in 1980 with the company, I had no clue about the oil and gas business coming from shipyard experience. I owe the company in trusting me with my instincts and using my project management skills from my previous multitasking job experience. Throughout the years, I have been fortunate to have been involved and contribute in a variety of diverse projects, both domestic and international (being given a chance to travel was definitely one of the perks), as well as developing my skills that allowed me to grow within the organization. For those individuals who have the patience for allowing me to learn...my gratitude to you all. I am hoping to contribute to the growth of WorleyParsons for a few more years of dedicated serving.
DOMINGO VILCHES
I FEEL VERY FORTUNATE to have enjoyed my engineering career with Colt Engineering and WorleyParsons over the last 30 years. I have experienced many changes, watched many employees grow, been involved in many challenges and opportunities, and witnessed a great company evolve from 100 people with Colt, to 30,000+ with WorleyParsons. Through all this, I have seen many dreams come true and always witnessed Colt WorleyParsons’ trust in its people. Thanks for a great run.
