This year’s football season has kicked off. This year’s team has a new change. Since Travis Livingston graduated last year, this year’s team quarterback is Krishawn Coleman.
The senior players on the team are S.Q. Bush, C.J. C a m p b e l l , S a b r a h a m C a n t y , C h a r l i e D r a k e , J a y l u n H a r d y , M u r i e l H i l l i a r d , A n t h o n y James, Xavier Lightfoot, Tony Martin, TraQuan Mason, Avery Odom, Wesley Patterson, B.J. Weaks, and Rakis Wilds-Bailey.
As of September 21, 2009, the record is 1-4.
Many players are looking forward to this season, despite the losses thus far. With new receivers and position changes, due to graduating seniors last
year, the team is open to new opportunities. Rakis Wilds-Bailey said, “I believe we will make it further this year, progress.” Likewise, S.Q. Bush stated, “We are better than last year.”
The team also has a strengthened bond this year. With this bond they expect to make it far in the season,
possibly to the playoffs. As senior player Jaylun Hardy summarized, “We will have a good season; we
have great players on the
team, and we treat each other like brothers.”
This year’s varsity season might be better than last year’s season, if the team can pick up some wins.
Like quarterback Krishawn Coleman said, “We are doing good so far; we just have to minimize the mistakes and play football like we know how to play it.”

about the team, “Our team has a lot of potential, and we are in a new conference, so I think we should do pretty good.” When asked what the team could work on, Coach Davis replied, “The
team could work on self-confidence.”
The team played nine games, and they’ve won one, against C a r v e r .
They played against Carver, Reynolds, East Forsyth, Glenn, N o r t h e a s t
Guilford, West Forsyth, and Asheboro. They have practices Monday through Thursday from 4-6:30. When asked about team potential, Shakeelah Carter stated, “I think everyone has a lot of potential, because we have a lot of great players.” Come out and support our volleyball team and show some school spirit!
