Don’t forget to get “LinkedIn” with our chapter IFMA NI Chap-ter Group

Greetings to all of our chapter members! Last month I gave out my email that we may have an open forum on topics of the day. Since that time I have discovered that IFMA national has a forum on its web site devoted to just that: IFMA Engage https://engage.ifma.org/groups/openforumhome is the home page, from there go to browse tab then dis-cussion posts. It has multiple posts related to our day to day issues- a few that I am following: Sit/stand desks for everyone?, Logging Visitors is it still needed, Security Access Control- How long to keep records and Ac-ceptable backlog of Work Orders. Most are applicable to scenarios I came currently dealing with in one way or another Because we usually operate in our own Facilities and only get to see quick glimpses of other Facilities on our monthly tours it is both in-teresting and reaffirming to see in detail what others are doing given the same difficulties. Well worth your time, check it out. I give you my email again for topics of Chapter concern: [email protected] Upcoming meetings include:

2017 Day of Service Saturday, September 16

This year we will be volunteering at the Great Western Prairie in Elmhurst. The Great Western Prairie is a unique 6-acre parcel of untouched land that runs parallel to the Illinois Prairie Path from Spring Road to Salt Creek. It is home to more than 100 different types of native plants and dates back to the time before European settlement of the area. We will be performing various tasks from picking up debris, cutting out invasive plants and quite possibly collecting seeds to help repopulate the native plants and to reconstitute other prairies around the Chicago area. Volunteers are asked to wear long pants and long-sleeved shirts, sturdy closed-toe shoes and to bring work gloves and hats. It also is suggested that you bring mosquito repellent and sun screen. Please bring loppers or other cutting tools, if you have them. Spouses and children are welcome to participate but the prairie is rather tall so it is not a good environment for small children.

We will be meeting at the Illinois Prairie Path located at Berkley Avenue and Prairie Path Lane in Elmhurst at 9 AM and working until Noon. Parking is available along the Illinois Prairie Path. Please contact Linda McInerney at 847-559-3909 or [email protected] for more information or to volunteer.

TICKETS Golf, Lunch, Dinner, free gifts, and door prize chances. Single - $195.00 Foursome - $750.00 Networking, Lunch, & Dinner - $50 Prices increase after September 1st. Register now. Don’t miss out.

This 28th annual event promises to be a great day of networking for both FM and associate members and friends. This year’s outing includes great food, a beautiful course for golf, new on-course games, a silent auction, and – of course - door prizes. Watch for a new celebrity guest. If you had fun last year, you know it will be a great day.

Just announced—special guest Chandler Harnish. Chandler Harnish (born July 28, 1988) is a former American footballquarterback. He was the final pick of the 2012 NFL Draft, selected 253rd overall by the Indianapolis Colts, becoming Mr. Irrelevant 2012. He played college football for Northern Illinois University, where he was the Huskies' starting quarterback for four years. Har-nish has also been a member of the Minnesota Vikings and Arizona Cardinals.

Check-in and Lunch – 11:30 Shotgun Start/Best-Ball Scramble – 12:30 (no previous golf experience re-quired) Reception, Food, and Prizes – 5:00 – 7:00

Best-ball format means that beginners and casual golfers can still have fun. The on-course games also do not require great skill. One game does not use a golf club at all. No clubs? No worries. Seven Bridges will rent you a set for the day.

Professional FM members can register and pay now. If invited to join an associate member paid foursome, we will refund your paid registration fee.

The chapter shares the proceeds of the outing with Aspire of Illinois and The Greater Chicago Food Deposi-tory. Your support goes a long way.
