Everything we do has an impact. We can affect change by the smallest deed, like ripples created on water with one gentle touch. Our choices – words and actions – create rip-ples, each ripple getting larger and larger, merging with other ripples, moving outward to affect our world in ways we do not always know or see. Leadership is about develop-ing awareness, about recognizing the impact we may have on others – both profession-ally and personally – and working to make that impact positive.

The 2016 ICHP Annual Meeting continues to explore this year’s presidential theme of leadership with a variety of continuing professional development programs and networking opportunities designed to help grow the skills needed for positive impact.

International speaker, Jack Harris, MEd, LPC, will be the keynote on Friday, focusing on leadership in all work levels. With his easy-going style and humor, Mr. Harris will share ideas and practical skills to implement in everyday life. Points he will touch on include personal leadership styles, the difference between leadership and management, the importance of both internal and external customer service, and more.

In an effort to continue our collaboration with other organizations, ICHP is partnering with the Phar-macy Learning Network (PLN) – part of the North American Center for Continuing Medical Education (NACCME). Their mission is to develop and disseminate live, print and web-based CME/CE activities to provide an educational forum through which healthcare practitioners may examine current medical issues, therapies, and technologies. Thursday’s programming will be held in partnership with PLN as their Chicago 1-Day Regional Meeting and part of ICHP’s Annual Meeting. ICHP hopes this collabora-tion will bring more pharmacy professionals together to impact and improve patient care.

In addition to leadership training, the Annual Meeting offers clinical, management and technology education programming, as well as sessions with a focus on technician and student initiatives.

What are the ripples you might create in your professional and personal life? Get your hands wet by plunging into the pool of knowledge and advancement. See what kind of positive impact you can have!
