Segovia Segovia was first recorded as a Celtic possession, with control eventually transferring into the hands of the Romans. Since it was founded by the Celts, over 2000 years ago, Segovia has been ruled by many groups of people. The Romans conquered it in 80B.C. and ruled for 600 years. Then city was taken over by Visigoths who controlled it for 200 years, during which the city fell into a decline.The Moors conquered Segovia in the 8 th century and helped revitalize it. In 1079 Catholic King Alfonso VI captured the city. His rule marked a period of weatlh and importance for Segovia that lasted many centuries. Fue construido para traer agua de un lado de la ciudad al otro. Fue construido hace 2000 años. No se usó mortero (mortar) ni cemento para construirlo. Se usaron piedras de la sierra de Guadarrama.
