What's new in Security Center 5.5 GA

With each release, new features, enhancements, or resolved issues are added to the product.

Platform enhancements

Security Center 5.5 GA includes the following platform enhancements:

• Enhanced Failover Directory (disaster recovery mode):

• Failover Directory roles located in other geographic areas (or buildings) can be configuredto act as disaster recovery servers. A Failover Directory role configured for disasterrecovery, only becomes available when all other primary Directories go offline or fail, andacts as the main Directory.

• You can specify explicitly (new setting) whether a Directory will be used for disasterrecovery. When the Failover Directory is in disaster recovery mode, it does not acceptclient/role connections and returns to normal standby operation when another Directoryrole comes back online or reconnects.

• Failover Directory supports the SQL AlwaysOn Availability Groups feature, where theDirectory SQL database server is configured for high availability and disaster recoverysolutions. This new failover mode is available in addition to the current Backup and Restoreand Mirroring modes.

• Plan Manager enhancements:

• Access control units (controllers) are now supported within maps. This allows users tovisually detect the real-time state of units on a map (A/C fail, tamper, and other statusinformation).

• With geo-referencing on image-based maps, it's now possible to create a map based onseveral file types (JPG, bmp, pdf) and reference it with real geographic coordinates. Thisenables perfect scaling of a map, as well as access to the actual geographical position of anyobject overlayed within the map. A change in the map does not affect the configuration of theobject layers; it is now also possible to benefit from mobile object and KML layers availableon private source maps like it was on GIS maps.

• Layer management has been enhanced for each map object type. Map objects (door, cameras, alarms, and so on) are now available on a separate layer. This allows an operator toselect which information is relevant to display, and in which order which makes their mapinterface more relevant to their immediate needs.

• Multi-tier packages: New packages are available for SDK users in the form of multiple tierswith different capabilities.

• The Basic SDK version is a freely-available package that users can access once they acceptour terms and conditions. With the Basic SDK, users can connect to and interact with theSecurity Center platform, create macros and more. This package includes the SDK for theSecurity Center platform, for Security Desk, Config Tool applications, and the Security CenterWeb Services. It is possible to develop macros, access and modify system configurationsettings, create and listen to real-time system events, manage alarms and incidents, generatevarious system and activity reports and much more.

• The Advanced SDK version includes the capabilities of the Basic SDK and offers moreadvanced video capabilities such as viewing and managing live and recorded video,

Page 12: Security Center Release Notes 5.5 SR2 · 2016. 10. 24. · Intelbras enhancements • View and dewarp video: Security Center supports viewing and dewarping video images captured from

managing audio, PTZ camera control, export video, video conversion to other formats, andaccess live and recorded RTSP video streams.

• Active Directory (AD) support for universal groups and global catalogs: The AD rolesupports the ability to synchronize universal groups (same synch capabilities available withActive Directory in Security Center 5.4) as well as security groups belonging to other domainswithin the same forest (Microsoft AD servers are organized into a hierarchy of containersrepresenting the logical structure or tree; when trust is established between logical “trees”,then a “forest” is created). Universal groups are AD accounts from any domain within the forest.

To achieve this, two options are supported:

1 A new setting enables the AD role to connect to a global catalog, which is a distributed datarepository that contains a searchable representation of every object in every domain in amulti-domain AD Domain Services forest.

2 When global catalogs are not used, the AD role must have the right permissions to contactand synchronize with several AD servers.

• DSC PowerSeries Intrusion Panel Extension 4.0: The DSC PowerSeries Intrusion PanelExtension 4.0 includes significant improvements in performance and scalability with respectto the number of intrusion detection units, intrusion detection areas, and inputs that aresupported. Please note that if you already have DSC panels integrated with a previous releaseof Security Center, you must install the new DSC PowerSeries 4.0 extension in order for yourintrusion panel features to work. For more information about the DSC PowerSeries IntrusionPanel Extension, see the DSC PowerSeries Intrusion Panel Extension Guide 4.0.

• Security Desk in 64-bit mode: The Security Desk is now installed as a 64-bit application, allowing for higher memory consumption. This is useful for customers that require morescalability, and customers that are using features that require more memory, such as PlanManager.

• Alarm Management enhancements – alarm grouping and filtering:

• Users can choose how additional occurrences of an alarm are displayed in the Security DeskAlarm Monitoring and Monitoring tasks. Alarms can be grouped by alarm, state, priority, andsource.

• When alarm grouping is enabled, a real-time count of current alarms in each group isdisplayed for quick visual reference, including any common fields for the group such asname, source, or priority.

• Users are also able to expand or minimize an alarm group to simplify viewing. Once grouped, alarms can be managed as a group with available actions that include acknowledge/snooze/forward all alarms in an alarm group.

For more information, see the Security Desk User Guide.• Server Admin Web Client now supported with HTML5: To enhance support for new web

browsers such as Google Chrome and Windows 10 Edge, the Server Admin web app supportsHTML5, the latest technology for web page development. For more information, see theSecurity Center Administrator Guide.

• Maintenance mode enhancements: For roles, video units, cameras, LPR units, Patrollers, access control units, and intrusion detection units, you can specify a duration when enablingMaintenance mode, after which maintenance mode is automatically deactivated. Whenmaintenance mode is enabled for an entity, the Maintenance mode icon is displayed over theentity's icon in the entity tree, indicating that the entity is being investigated and might notperform as expected. The automatic deactivation (schedule) ensures the entity returns tonormal operation without requiring manual intervention.

NOTE: Setting an entity in Maintenance mode does not stop health events, but it reports allhealth events as information only. Any event-to-actions configured for an entity in maintenancemode should continue to work as well.

• New digital input state change events for configuring event-to-actions: Users can configureevent-to-actions based on digital input events. Three new input state events have been added:normal, active, and trouble. For more information, see the Security Center Administrator Guide.

• Security Center Compact: Security Center Compact is a new edition of Security Center (alongwith Standard, Professional and Enterprise) that is only available on subscription. The Compactpackage supports up to 25 cameras and offers an easy-to-deploy option for customers withbasic video management requirements. A Security Center Compact system can be federatedwithin a Security Center Enterprise system, and can be easily upgraded to the next SecurityCenter package tier. A Security Center Compact license is required. For more information aboutSecurity Center Compact and subscription-based licensing, contact your Genetec™ channelpartner.

Video enhancements

Security Center 5.5 GA includes the following video enhancements.

General video enhancements

• Enhanced security for RTSP connections – RTSP over TLS:

• Prior to Security Center 5.5, existing RTSP connections between Security Center role andclient apps used plain RTSP (no encryption or authentication), leaving them exposed to DoSand man-in-the-middle attacks.

• This new feature adds token-based authentication to RTSP requests and adds encryption forvideo transmission by leveraging RTSP over TLS. Command and Control communicationsbetween server modules was already encrypted with Security Center 5.4.

• A new setting called “Use secure communication” is available in the Media Router roleconfiguration settings to enable RTSP over TLS. The "Use secure communication" setting isenabled by default.

• All video transmission uses RTSP over TLS by default.• When network or system is configured for Multicast or Unicast UDP, the RTSP channel is

encrypted. When Unicast TCP is enabled, all the video is transmitted over a secured andauthenticated TLS channel.

• Video playback and video export always use RTSP over TLS so transmitted video is secure(encrypted).NOTE: The "Use Secure Communication" setting can be turned off for backward andforward compatibility. For example, on a Security Center 5.4 system you can federate aSecurity Center 5.5 system, but the "Use secure communication" setting must be turned off.

• Three tier Archiver: It is possible to configure a strategy for camera failover that includesmultiple failover archivers, and a defined order of priority for cameras to failover from oneserver to another. This feature is useful in multi-site scenarios as it enhances the reliabilityof a global video surveillance system; the local site is protected with a third failover Archiverlocated at a remote site.

NOTE: This feature requires a specific license.

For more information, see the Security Center Administrator Guide.

• New event-to-action: email a snapshot: The email a snapshot action, allows users to take asnapshot or a series of snapshots pre-event and post-event and email them to a recipient. Formore information, see the Security Center Administrator Guide.

• Export video to MP4:

• To offer greater flexibility in viewing exported video and well as speed up the exportprocess, Security Center supports exporting video to the MP4 file format. This enables usersto view video in a widely-used format, leveraging common off-the-shelf video players, whilenot requiring a specialized video player, such as Genetec Video Player. This capability is alsosupported using the SDK.

• Users can convert G64 and G64x files to MP4, and it is more efficient since no transcodingis required. Conversion to MP4 supports H.264 and MPEG-4 video, and AAC audio formats.Fusion stream encryption and overlays are not supported in this first iteration.

For more information, see the Security Desk User Guide.• Re-exporting G64 video: Users are able to create new G64 and G64x video files by re-

exporting existing exported video and choosing user-defined start and end times.

For more information, see the Security Desk User Guide.• Adding bookmarks to exported G64x videos located in the “Vault”: After video has been

exported (G64x recordings) to the Vault, users can add or remove bookmarks to add additionalinformation.

NOTE: This feature is not supported in the Genetec Video Player.

For more information, see the Security Desk User Guide.• Snapshot editor:

• Users can edit or modify snapshots, including modifying a snapshot to ensure privacy.• Snapshot images can be cropped, blurred, masked, rotated, flipped, and re-exported.• Users can reset a snapshot and undo/redo edits prior to the snapshot being saved.

For more information, see the Security Desk User Guide.• Auto-discovery is no longer enabled by default: To avoid issues with unit connectivity, auto-

discovery is no longer enabled by default for the following camera extensions:

• ACTi (ACD,ACM,CAM,KCM,SED,TCD, and TCM)• Bosch (All)• Interlogix Cam Plus (CamPlus IP)• Interlogix MPEG-4 (Legend IP, SymDec, SymNet, SymSafe, and SymVeo)• Verint (All)

Auto-discovery can be re-enabled in Config Tool by selecting the Multicast period andBroadcast period options on the Extensions tab of the Archiver.

Bosch enhancements

• Add Bosch units using a Domain Name System (DNS) name: You can now manually addBosch units using a hostname instead of an IP address. This is useful when an encryptioncertificate cannot be created using an IP address as a common name. For more information, seethe Security Center Video Unit Configuration Guide.

Panasonic enhancements

• Improved software motion detection: Software motion detection in Security Center 5.5 hasbeen improved. Motion detection is no longer based on motion information from the Panasoniccamera but from the H.264 video itself. This resolves the problem of i-VMD and Hardwaremotion detection not working properly when performing PTZ actions.

NOTE: Improved software motion detection is only available for Panasonic 3, 4, and 6 seriescameras. Furthermore, this feature is only active for newly added units in 5.5 GA. Camerasalready existing on the system will continue to use motion detection information from thePanasonic camera.

Access control enhancements

Security Center 5.5 GA includes the following access control enhancements.

• Allegion Schlage electronic lock support:

NOTE: Requires Softwire 10.2

• Synergis Cloud Link supports Allegion Schlage AD-Series wireless (AD-400) and hardwired(AD-300) electronic locks through specific Mercury EP panels (EP2500 and EP1501).The AD-Series locks are non-intelligent devices (online locks with no decision-makingcapabilities) and require connectivity to Mercury panels, which in turn connect to SynergisCloud Link or legacy SMCs.

• The Synergis Cloud Link appliance (and SMC) can support up to 128 Allegion locks.• Up to 16 AD-300 locks or 64 AD-400 locks are supported per Mercury EP2500 controller (4

PIM-400s x 16 locks per PIM = 64 locks per EP2500).• Up to 8 AD-300 locks or 16 AD-400 locks (1 PIM-400 with 16 locks = 16 locks per EP1501)

are supported per Mercury EP1501 controller.• Up to 16 AD-300 locks or 64 AD-400 locks per Honeywell PW6K (PW6K is a Mercury OEM).

• Peer-to-Peer (P2P) communications with Synergis Cloud Link appliances:

NOTE: Requires Softwire 10.2

• P2P communications enables linking of inputs and outputs across Synergis Cloud Linkappliances without relying on a connection to the Access Manager.

• Input state changes are retransmitted from one Synergis Cloud Link to its peers (otherSynergis Cloud Link appliances). Inputs on one appliance can trigger outputs on anotherappliance.

• Up to 15 Synergis Cloud Link appliances can be connected as peers, supporting a maximumof 512 outputs and 128 inputs in I/O linking configurations.

• P2P communications is achieved by having one Synergis Cloud Link designated as the“master” within an I/O zone, communicating with “connected” peers. In the event of amaster Synergis Cloud Link appliance failure, the Access Manager would not support therole of the master appliance (P2P would not work in this scenario).

• Global antipassback with Synergis Cloud Link appliances:

NOTE: Requires Softwire 10.3

• Global antipassback is a feature that extends the antipassback restrictions to areascontrolled by multiple Synergis Cloud Link appliances (also known as Synergis unit).

Page 16: Security Center Release Notes 5.5 SR2 · 2016. 10. 24. · Intelbras enhancements • View and dewarp video: Security Center supports viewing and dewarping video images captured from

tip.genetec.com | Security Center Release Notes 5.5 SR2EN.500.001-V5.5.C2(4) | Last updated: October 24, 2016 12

• When strict and hard antipassback is applied to an area without global antipassback, acardholder who entered the area through one door cannot leave the area through anotherdoor if both doors are not controlled by the same Synergis unit. Also, the same cardholderwho entered the area through one door, can re-enter the area through a different door if thetwo doors are not controlled by the same Synergis unit. With global antipassback enabled, these two violations can be prevented.

• Global antipassback only works on areas that are entirely controlled by Synergis units. Allunits controlling the same area must be managed by the same Access Manager.

• Enhanced Mercury scalability:

NOTE: Requires Softwire 10.2

Customers can connect up to 32 Mercury EP panels (maximum of 128 readers) to a SynergisCloud Link appliance (or SMC). This has increased from 16 Mercury EP panels in the previousfirmware version.

• Enhanced encryption for Mercury EP panels and Assa Abloy IP locks:

NOTE: Requires Softwire 10.2

• Mercury EP Panel Encryption: Default TSL Encryption for Mercury EP buses is available tooffer greater communication security. TSL encryption will be enabled by default as Softwire10.2 will be bundled with Mercury firmware 1.21.2.

• Assa Abloy IP Lock Encryption: 128-bit AES encryption is supported between IP locks (POEor WiFi) and the Synergis Cloud Link appliance or SMC.

• Automatic expiration of unused credentials and inactive cardholders (Synergis CloudLink, SMC, HID Controllers):

• To further enhance access control security, credentials can be set to automatically expire ifthey have not been used for a defined period of time.

• Users can display which credentials will expire using the “expiration date” filter in thecredentials management task.

• Cardholders who have been inactive (have not used their credentials) for a defined period oftime can also be configured to auto-expire.

• Expiration values can be copied from on entity to another using the Copy Config capability ofSecurity Center.

• Area Presence Reporting task enhancements:

• New filters for cardholders and cardholder groups allow operators to create more targetedarea presence reports. Users first select an area, at which point the filters are enabled foruse.

• Two additional columns have been added to the Area Presence reporting task to providegreater detail about cardholders present in an area:• Cardholder Group that the cardholder in the report belongs to.• Visitor Escort (cardholder) who is visiting a facility and is being hosted (or escorted) by

an authorized cardholder.• Double swipe supported with the Assa Abloy Aperio lock (v3):

NOTE: Requires Softwire 10.2

With a double swipe (double presentation of a credential), users can toggle the lock state fromlocked to unlocked (or vice versa) for a door equipped with the Aperio locks (V3).

• New integration with STid keypad-enabled readers:

NOTE: Requires Softwire 10.2

Page 17: Security Center Release Notes 5.5 SR2 · 2016. 10. 24. · Intelbras enhancements • View and dewarp video: Security Center supports viewing and dewarping video images captured from

Keypad-enabled STid readers (version 5 or later) are supported. Supported keypad modesinclude: Card or PIN / Card AND PIN / Card AND PIN on schedule. The STid readers connect tothe Synergis Cloud Link appliance (or SMC) over RS-485.

• Turnstile support with Mercury Panels: Two new Mercury turnstile modes are supported onMercury Panels:

1 The Mercury panel will ignore a superseding access granted until the previous cardholdergoes through the turnstile.

2 The Mercury panel will remember the number of accesses granted and unlock the door oncefor each access granted as people go through the turnstile. This allows multiple cardholdersto badge and then walk through.

• Access Manager database retention period enhancement: You can now keep events for upto 9999 days, previously the maximum was 999 days.

LPR enhancements

Security Center 5.5 GA includes the following LPR enhancements.

• Single read on trigger: Users can configure the system to capture a plate after a signal hasbeen received from an electrical device, Security Center event-to-action, or a hot action. Thisfeature is designed for use with fixed AutoVu installations and is ideal for controlling vehicleaccess to gated parking lots. This feature is supported with SharpOS 11.3 and requires Sharp3.0 and XS hardware. For more information, see the Sharp Administrator Guide.

• Deleting a hotlist hit: If a license plate has been added to a hotlist in error and there is one ormore reads of a license plate in a hotlist, the user now has the ability to delete the hit from thedatabase. This can be done in Security Desk from the Hit Report task. When a hit is deleted, it isadded as an activity trail.

IMPORTANT: You can no longer view and control Sharp outputs from the LPR Manager. To doso, you must enroll the Sharp as a video unit in the Archiver. If this is not part of your currentSecurity Center license, please contact GTAC. After upgrading to Security Center 5.5, you must alsoreconfigure any existing event-to-actions that use outputs associated to an LPR Processing Unitunder the LPR Manager since those event-to-actions will no longer exist.

Limitations in Security Center 5.5 SR2

Limitations are software or hardware issues that cannot be fixed. For certain limitations, workarounds are documented.

Generic issues are categorized by solution. Unit specific issues are categorized by manufacturerand/or model.

Security Center 5.5 SR2 includes the following known limitations.

Solution/Unit Issue Description

Access 601549 It is not recommended to use cardholder or credential Expirationsettings with Federation. If the cardholder or credential expiresat a federated site (for example, when using the Set expiration onfirst use option), the status of the cardholder or credential is notsynchronized at the host site.

Access 546220 Global I/O: For a Security Center 5.5 federated server, the arm/disarm widget for I/O zones is enabled when the master unit isoffline.

Access 506048 After modifying an assigned output behavior of an IO Zone, youneed to perform a manual synchronization on the Master unit forthe modified output behavior to be applied.

Access 474260 Config Tool: The access control unit stays in warning state (yellow)when the door interface is deleted before the door entity.

Access 396679 Zone: When you arm a zone and configure an Entry delay, only thefirst event and a Zone armed event are generated for the zone.

Access 396605 When the Security Center feature "Ignore held open on unlockschedule" is enabled and an "Always unlocked" schedule is in effect,a VertX controller that is offline, and then is brought back onlinewhile the door is held open will result in a "Held open" event.

Access 351581 Cardholder management: Performing an Advanced search, usingthe Unused cards filter causes the system to fail.

Access 282184 Nested areas: When deleting the child area in Config Tool, the doorsthat belonged to the deleted area appear under the parent area inthe tree view but are not shown in the parent area properties.

Workaround: Before deleting the child area, you can drag theentities to the parent area or add them from the area properties.

Access 264771 If perimeter units of an area are managed by more than one AccessManager, multiple events are generated for the same warning. Ifno perimeter units are configured for an area, an "Entity Warning"event is received when the area state changes from "Running" to"Warning".

Solution/Unit Issue Description

HID 96527 HID VertX: If the wire of a 4-state supervised input is physically cutor shortened, then the Input state field in the Peripherals tab inConfig Tool is always set to Trouble (open circuit).

HID 79324 For HID VertX units configured to use hard antipassback, if thecardholder is granted access but does not enter the area, the peoplecount is still affected, and First person in or Last person in eventscould still be triggered.

HID 79154 For HID VertX units, the Access manager role only supports entrydetection when the access controller is online. When the accesscontroller is offline, every Access granted event is associated withan Entry assumed event, even if the cardholder did not enter thearea.

HID 57119 You must stop the Access Manager before initiating a unit swapoperation in the Config Tool. Once the swap is completed, theAccess Manager can be restarted.

HID 57118 The HID Edge device (EdgeReader or EdgePlus) can only be usedto control a single door. You cannot use two HID Edge devices toconfigure a door with two readers. The supported configuration foran Edge device is a card-in /REX-out door.

HID 57116 The HID VertX V1000 inputs and outputs cannot be used for thefollowing purposes:

• A door REX, door sensor, door lock• Elevator control or floor tracking• Interlock, including the override or lockdown functions• Readerless door• IO linking (Zone)• Door buzzer

HID 57115 Battery fail inputs: If the VertX V1000 Battery Fail input is used tomonitor battery failure, then the Battery Fail inputs on all interfacemodules (V100, V200, V300) controlled by the V1000 must only beused for monitoring battery failure. Similarly, if the V1000 BatteryFail is used as a general purpose input, the Battery Fail interfacemodules must only be used for general purpose inputs.

HID 57114 AC fail inputs: If the VertX V1000 AC Fail input is used to monitorAC, then the AC Fail inputs on all interface modules (V100, V200,V300) controlled by the V1000 must only be used for monitoringAC. Similarly, if the V1000 AC Fail is used as a general purposeinput, the AC Fail interface modules must only be used for generalpurpose inputs.

HID 57113 When a Door unlock schedule override is removed, there is adelay of 40 seconds before the door’s unit is fully programmed.

Solution/Unit Issue Description

LPR 372151 In Security Desk's Maps task or in Config Tool's Map designer, if youunselect a layer that shows reads from a fixed Sharp camera, newreads are still displayed on the map.

Workaround: To stop new reads from being displayed on themap, you can right-click the Sharp camera in the Maps task andselect Hide events. Alternatively, you can block all license platereads by selecting Options > Events and clearing the License plateread checkbox.

LPR 333734 When a failover occurs, the LPR role does not reconnect with FixedSharps if the Sharps are configured with the "force reconnect"option.

LPR 276391 Hotlist Editor: You cannot search values in any date or time field.

LPR 259095 When performing a Reads/hits per day report on federatedentities from a 5.2 system, using the During the last option tospecify a time range in days does not work. The report is missingthe reads and hits for the last day.

Workaround: Under Time range use the Specific date option, oradd an extra day if you want to use the During the last option.

LPR 258387 MLPI: License plate reads that are saved as XML files by theGenetec.LicensePlateManagement.MLPI.SmartDevice.exe do notapply the same formatting as the ReadTemplate.xml in the SecurityCenter installation package.

LPR 257122 When the LPR role comes back online after losing connectionwith Security Center, the Fixed Sharp immediately sends storedpotential hits before the LPR role has had a chance to parse allassociated hotlists. Therefore some hits may be missed.

LPR 156796 While upgrading Security Center from 4.0 to 5.0, the server anddatabase used in 4.0 are not automatically reassigned to the LPRManager role in 5.0.

Workaround: You need to reassign the resources manually in theConfig Tool.

LPR 156795 LPR manager database cleanup begins when the LPR Managerdatabase table reaches 20,000 reads. Previously, the LPR Managerdatabase cleanup did not start until the database table reached100,0000 reads. If using SQL 2008 Express, the database could notreach 100,000 reads before reaching the 4 GB limit in SQL Express.

LPR 156794 Security Desk - The timestamp associated to a hit does notcorrespond to the time the hit was raised, but the time thepatrolling officer took action on the hit (Accepted, Rejected, or Notenforced).

Backward compatibility requirements for Security Center

Because Security Center 5.5 SR2 is backward compatible with many Security Center 5.xcomponents, you can upgrade your Security Center system in stages.

The requirements for Security Center backward compatibility are as follows:

• Upgrading to the latest version: When upgrading, you must always upgrade the main serverhosting the Directory role and Config Tool. Always upgrade each expansion server hosting arole type that is not backward compatible.

• Using new features: To use the new features introduced in version 5.5 SR2, upgrade yourSecurity Center servers.

• Role assigned to multiple servers: If a role is assigned to multiple servers, such as in afailover configuration, all of its servers must be running the same version of Security Center.

• Directory assigned to multiple servers: All Directory servers must use the exact samesoftware version and service release. For example, if you upgrade to Security Center 5.5 SR2,you must upgrade all Directory servers to 5.5 SR2.

• SQL Server: Because Security Center 5.5 is not compatible with Microsoft SQL Server 2005, youmust install a more recent version of the database server (see the system requirements for alist of compatible versions). For more information on how to upgrade your SQL Server, refer toyour Microsoft documentation.

IMPORTANT: Because adding backward compatible connections slows down the performance ofthe Directory, it is recommended only as a temporary solution before you are able to upgrade allservers and workstations.

Backward compatibility between Security Center roles

Each new release of Security Center 5.5 includes new role features that might be compatiblewith earlier versions. The Security Center roles that are backward compatible are outlined in thefollowing table.

IMPORTANT: All expansion servers hosting a role that is not backward compatible must beupgraded to the same version as the main server hosting the Directory.

a. The Security Center 5.5 Archiver role and the Omnicast 4.x Archiver service cannot run on thesame server.b. If the Archiver role is not running on the Omnicast server, then Security Center 5.5 can coexist onthe same server as Omnicast.c. If Omnicast supports more than 30 cameras, it is best practice to host Security Center andOmnicast on different computers.d. The Security Center Media Router cannot stream video from federated Omnicast systems. Videostreams from federated Omnicast systems are streamed directly to the Security Desk client usingthe Omnicast Compatibility Pack. This means that the Security Desk client must be able to connectdirectly to the Omnicast server. For information about installing the Omnicast Compatibility Pack, see the Security Center Installation and Upgrade Guide. The latest version of this document isavailable on the GTAP Documents page.
