Results: The BSES-SF score of the intervention group rose significantly from a median of 50 at early postpartum to 53 at six week postpartum (p< 0.05). For the control group, the score dropped from 54 at early postpartum to 52 at six week postpartum (p= 0.011). However there was no significant difference between groups. Race, work, intended duration of breastfeeding, exposure to previous information on breastfeeding and support person positively

correlated with items on the BSES-SF. Conclusion: evidence indicates that a self efficacy intervention, in the form of a self-care program was able to increase women s breastfeeding self-efficacy. The BSES-SF appears to be reliable and valid measure of self efficacy in Malaysian women.

Effectiveness of warfarin education on warfarin compliance

Results: The mean scores of knowledge pre-warfarin education is 42.58 ï¿½13.183 and post- intervention is 68.91ï¿½ 17.101. The mean scores of compliance pre-intervention is 3.78 ï¿½ 1.759; and post-intervention showed mean score of compliance is 3.39 ± 1.508. There is a difference in mean score of knowledge for pre and post-intervention (p0.088). Following warfarin education, there is association between post-intervention knowledge and compliance scores with (p0.05. Differences between compliance scores and INR result showed there is a difference in mean compliance scores and INR results following warfarin education (p

Smoking cessation intervention among Acute Coronary Syndrome patients

Evaluation for one month showed, there were 41.2% (n=14) among intervention group (n=34) who received smoking cessation intervention able to quit compared to control group (n=39) with 15.4% (n=6). Smoking cessation Self efficacy increased significantly between baseline at one months in the intervention group (z= -4.865, p0.05). Carbon monoxide score was significantly reduced across the three periods of time in the intervention group with X2 (2, n=34) = 63.79, p<0.05).

Result:There was a significant difference between knowledge pre and post intervention (z=-5.85, P< 0.005, R= -0.8). Year of working experience I IC and knowledge are found to be statistically associated (X2 =

9.37, P < 0.001). Conclusion: the significant increase in knowledge level seen in the nurses one month post intervention compared to pre intervention. Therefore, result of this study support the effectiveness of multi-component education in post insetion CVC care bundle among ICU nurses.

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN KNOWLEDGE AND PRACTICE OF COMPLETE DIET AND GROWTH

108 ( 95%) OF THE RESPONDENTS HAD KNOWLEDGE ABOUT COMPLETE DIET. HOWEVER, THEY WERE LESS THAN 40 % OF MOTHER DID NOT PRACTICE COMPLETE DIET ACCORDING TO THE GUIDELINE GIVEN. THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN DIET AND GROWTH WAS SIGNIFICANT WITH P VALUE LESS THAN 0.05. CHILDREN WERE GIVEN PROPER COMPLETE DIET HAD BETTER NUTRITIONAL STATUS AS COMPARED TO THE THEIR COUNTERPARTS.

The frequency and duration of diarrhea/ vomiting, purulent rhinitis, cough and wheeze and frequency of mouth/ear/eye/skin decreased as partially breastfeeding rate increased. There were no significant difference in growth pattern by infant feeding practices seen in this study. Infant feeding may not be the only factor to determine the infant health status.
