CHANGE

Lent is all about change and change is usually not easy. In order to change we have to leave something behind. Today we hear about a very old man who decides to answer God’s call. Abram experiences a tremendous amount of change when he leaves everything behind, risking it all for God’s promise. Jesus changes, is transfigured, right before the eyes of his disciples. The Lenten scriptures issue the call for us to change, to be transfigured, so that we, too, will soon share in the glory of God. What is it that the Lord is asking us to leave behind? Second Sunday of Lent - Stewardship

Peter, James, and john wanted to build a

“booth” for Jesus and just stay on the mountain

where His transfiguration took place. But the

Son of God, the Chosen One, knew that he must

instead keep moving toward His crucifixion. We

too, must rise from worship and do what we

can to hasten the coming of the kingdom.

Vision: To make God, Father, Son & Holy Spirit—known, loved and

served.

Mission: St. Bartholomew is committed to forming dynamic Catholic

Christian disciples through prayer, the Word, Sacraments and

Evangelization.

You are invited to participate in The Wild

Goose series on the Holy Spirit on Sundays. Class will be held this

Sunday, March 8th at 9:15 AM but not on the 15th or 22nd .

"The King and His Kingdom" Your adult faith formation committee would like to encourage you all to, instead of 'giving up something for

Lent', go the extra mile and 'do something extra' for Lent. We're still in the mainstream of the bible study of Matthew--'The King and His Kingdom'. In the last 6 sessions we will study topics like 'The Trial of the Christ', 'The Passion of the King' and 'The Triumph of the King'. How appropriate for the days leading up to the Paschal Triduum. We all never imagined that we could learn so much about our Faith. Please come and join us. Also, there are a number of quality Lenten Daily Partners out there that you can use as a Lenten guide to the Cross of Christ on Good Friday. We're recommending that you take a copy of the one that we are supplying at no cost - available in the Narthex of the Church. We wish everyone a solemn and fulfilling Lent.

If you would like to send a get well card or a

thinking of you card to Msgr. Martin, simply

drop it by the office or in the collection.

We are looking for someone to

take over the VBS program this

summer. If you are interested, contact

Paulette at 251-986-8142.
