Each year, many children get a week off of school for spring break. Teachers even get to stay home from school, too! During spring break, a lot of families go on a vacation. Some go to the beach, some go camping, and some even get on an airplane and fly somewhere far away. Many children get to go visit family members that live in other cities and states. Other people like to stay at home. They sleep in and play games, and just have fun! It’s a great time to relax and take a break from school and all that hard work. When the break is over, it’s time to go back to school and get back to learning. It’s a time to show off everything you have learned all year, and get ready for summer break, too. Do you get a spring break at your school?

Earth Day Earth Day is a celebrated on April 22nd of each year. The very first Earth Day was in 1970, almost 40 years ago! Adults and children from all over the world take part in celebrations on Earth Day. We celebrate this special day to remind us all of how important it is to take care of our planet. We can take care of the Earth by recycling, or reusing, items such as plastic bottles, glass, paper, and metal. When we recycle these things, less garbage goes into landfills. A landfill is a place where garbage is taken. It is piled up and covered with dirt over and over again. Many people worry that we will run out of space to put our garbage if we keep filling up our landfills. Other ways to take care of our planet is to plant more trees and flowers, clean up yards and other places you see trash, stop wasting water, and learning more about the importance of the Earth. This special day is so important for all of us! .

This little treehouse my dad built me is more than just a box in a tree.

It’s a place to imagine, to dream, to play An adventure is waiting inside every day.

One day it’s a giant ship with billowing sails and tomorrow a rocket ship with flaming tails. I can be a pirate, an astronaut or even a bear.

When I’m up in my treehouse, I don’t care. It’s my escape – a real fun place to be.
