Objetivo de aprendizaje:

Practice new vocabulary about computer terms and understand their meanings.

Instrucciones:

Activity 1Complete the activities form the workbook page 66 in a Word document using simple past

passive.

Remember:

For singular nouns: Subject + was / wasn’t + past participleFor plural nouns: Subject + was / weren’t + past participle

Examples:

The Monalisa was painted by Leonardo da Vinci. (The Monalisa is a singular noun)

The ancient pyramids were built by the Mayans. (The ancient pyramids is a plural noun)

Let’s do #1 as an example:

Marie singular noun, we use was and now we have to choose the correct verb and

change it to the past participle, in this case the rest of the information says “Sorbonne”

which is a school, so let’s use accept, it’s a regular verb, so just add -ed = accepted.

1. Marie was accepted at the Sorbonne in Paris…

Here in this activity you just have to replace the information from the parenthesis with the

wrong information in the sentence.

Example: The first denim trousers were called jeans.

In this case replace jeans with waist overalls.

The first denim trousers were called waist overalls.

Here you have to create questions and then answer these questions with information from

the first activity.

Yes / no questions: Was / Were + subject + past participleInformation questions: Question word + was/were + subject + past participle

Example: was / when / born / Marie Curie

When was Marie Curie born? On November 7th, 1867

In this activity just write true information, true information about you or true things related to

your life. Example: I was named after my grandfather.

Activity 2First, complete the following quiz using the simple past passive.

Now create your own quiz using the simple past passive. You can use your own ideas

talking about different discoveries, inventions, creations, etc. Create 10 questions with

three possible answers.

Examples:

Where was paper first made? A Egypt B China C IndiaCorrect answer: China

When were the first Microsoft tablets created? A 2000 B 2001 C 2002Correct answer: 2001

When you finish your quiz, record yourself saying these questions with the three possible

answers, but don’t say the correct one. Then, send the audio to two friends so they can

take the quiz. Please tell them not to check the web to find out the correct answers. Report

their answers and see how many answers they had correct.

A document in Word format with the activities previously mentioned.

Audio from the quiz (use your smartphones).
