ABOUT ALA African Leadership Academy (ALA) seeks to transform Africa by identifying, developing, and connecting its future leaders. THE ROLE: FACILITIES MANAGER ALA seeks a Facilities Manager. This role is an ideal position for experienced managers in facilities management or hospitality who are seeking a chance to play a critical role in building and maintaining ALA’s campus and infrastructure. In our ALA Strategic Plan, we challenged ourselves to develop “Great People, Great Infrastructure.” The person in this role will play a leadership role in the ongoing implementation of our campus master plan: a long-term framework for the renovation and development of our campus in Honeydew. The Facilities Manager reports to the Director of Finance & Administration. As a member of our Shared Business Services Division, the Facilities Manager leads the Maintenance team and works closely with our Hospitality, Security, Finance, Procurement and HR teams. This person will play a pivotal role in shaping our long-term strategy for the campus and identifying new opportunities to enable our mission. Expected Responsibilities Maintain ALA’s buildings and grounds Play active role in campus development projects, such as large-scale renovation of ALA’s Learning Commons Arrange for and oversee services of outside contractors Manage spending to facilities operating budget Maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness and efficiency on campus Profile of Ideal Candidate Experienced facilities manager with track record in buildings and grounds maintenance in schools or hotels Enjoys developing relationships with clients/patrons; prioritizes customer satisfaction Experience managing diverse maintenance teams and external service providers Proficient in basic ‘all-round’ maintenance trades such as; basic electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry Start Date: As soon as possible africanleadershipacademy ALAcademy ALAvideochannel
