1. PURPOSE

This document describes the procedure for electronic model transfer of 3D steel models between Jacobsand Contractor and the requirements pertaining to the necessary drawings to be created by Contractor.The intention of this specification is to achieve improved work quality through a more efficient workingmethodology.

2. ELECTRONIC 3D MODEL TRANSFER

2.1. GENERAL

Jacobs shall design all steel structures as three dimensional steel models. Each steel structure identifiedon the overall 3D isometric view will be - at least - one model.The three-dimensional steel models form a part of Jacobs’s electronic Plant Design Management System

(PDMS) which also includes designs of other disciplines such as piping equipment civil electrical and

Contractor shall ensure that the steel models generated are fully compliant with Jacobs’s steel models byimplementing a fit for purpose Quality Control system.

All connections shall be detailed and calculated by Contractor.

The electronic model information flow is as follows, the original 3D model will be transferred from Jacobsto Contractor, Contractor shall transfer the converted and edited model ‘for Approval’ to Jacobs. Nochanges to steel models other than for producing fabrication details are permitted without prior writtenapproval of Jacobs. Working point location, orientation and section sizes of steel members includinghorizontal and vertical bracings must be maintained.

Electronic mail (or CD-ROMs) will be used for file transfer. After written approval from Jacobs on Contractors deliverables, Contractor can start the fabrication of thesteel structure.

2.3. MODEL CONTENTS

Jacobs’s steel model may detail columns, beams and braces, moment connections, base-plates, stairand ladder locations as well as fireproofing. Furthermore, Jacobs will issue drawings with additionaldetailed information, if required. All models are defined in millimeters, and are located at client’s plantcoordinates. Each model has a unique location.Contractor shall not combine Jacobs’ models to one or more detailed models without prior writtenapproval of Jacobs.

2.3.4. LaddersLadders are also modeled for information only. The location of centerline of rungs is correct, but rungwidth; center-to-center distance; ladder stringers and cages shall be detailed by Contractor in accordancewith the applicable specifications and standards.For ladders located on sloped surfaces Jacobs shall issue additional information for a correct detailing ofthe ladder base plates

2.3.5. HandrailWithin PDMS handrail is modeled as reference only.Contractor will design the handrail according the applicable specifications and standards. Finalinformation for required cut-outs in the handrail will be given to Contractor by means of marked up 3-disometric view on which the handrail of Contractors model and the required action is clearly indicated.This information will be issued together with the AFC-approval on Contractors model.

2.3.6. Pipe supportingThe OSDE-interface gives the possibility to release several models belonging to the same structure.Structural steel for pipe supports for example will be released to the Contractor separately from the mainstructure, but in the same period. It’s Contractor’s responsibility to line-up both models to transfer therequired connection details.For checking purpose it’s essential that Contractor return detailed models in the same configuration asreceived.

Note:Holes for e.g. holding down bolts for equipment will be modeled within PDMS by making use of a dummy,which represent the diameter and the location of the bolt.These dummies are indicating in Purchaser’s naming convention by using the abbreviation ‘AB’ It’s Contractor’s responsibility to define holes sizes and location in his detailed model.

2.3.9. Mapping TableIn the export-file you receive from Jacobs the following “profile” naming can occur:

3. GENERAL ARRANGEMENT DRAWINGS BY CONTRACTOR

See also attachment II.

3.1. GENERAL

For a selected number of steel items, mainly equipment supporting structures, pipe racks and buildings, itis the purpose for Contractor to create General Arrangement drawings for Authority Approval asdeliverables, using STRUCAD, TEKLA STRUCTURES or BOCAD as a modeling tool and AUTOCAD asdrafting tool.

The General Arrangement drawings for Authority Approval shall represent the plans and elevations of the

- Showing extent of fireproofing graphically (preferably 3D pictures of fireproofed members only)and by marking members with FP-3 for three sided fireproofing or FP-4 for four sided fireproofing.- Showing typical details, such as sliding points.- For welded structures type and size of welds to be indicated on separate drawing(s). Thesedrawings shall be submitted ‘for Approval’. - Outlines of concrete frames and concrete structures.- Cross references to other drawings (e.g. base plate details, equipment connections).- Client’s or Jacobs’s drawing border, including a correct filled in title block, Contractor’sidentifications- General notes (e.g. instructions and / or restrictions for erection).- Material qualities and surface treatment.

3.3. DOCUMENT REVIEW

Jacobs’s shall issue the SDNF file and drawings, sketches with ‘Released For Design’ status.

Jacobs’s intention is to issue complete design information, however, Contractor shall accept changesand/or additions to these documents required for, design developments during the course of the work.

4. GENERAL ARRANGEMENT DRAWING LAYOUT

Attachment II gives a graphical explanation of the general arrangement drawing lay-out, which ispresented in example drawings “A”, “B” and “C”. On these drawings annotation numbers are shown,which are defined underneath.

Annotation numbers definition:

1. A complete 3D picture of the entire structure, including grid labels, grid distances and mainelevations.2. A 3D picture of fireproofed members (if applicable), including grid labels, grid distances and mainelevations.3. North arrow.4. Correct filled in title block (dictated by Jacobs) and Contractor’s identification5. General notes for the “A” drawing including reference drawings, key plan and account code,dictated by Jacobs.

6. Material qualities and surface treatment.7. Base plate plan with grid labels and north & east coordinates as references.8. All structural plans shall be shown.9. Cross-references to other drawings, in principle dictated by Jacobs.10. All member sizes shall be shown.11. All members shall be dimensioned from reference point (grids) in millimeters.12.
