  • 1. Analysing Cranford SculpturesGood Points: Represents the school in a way that is simple, and good to look at. The crane is the logo of Cranford. The crane flying over the globe represents equality. The pedestal has the Cranford C on it and has the length of time the school has been open for on it. (In 2005 that is.)Bad Points: The sculpture has been rusting making it look unappealing.

2. Good Points: Excellent detail. Conveys a message of recycling to save sealife and other animals. Apart from eyes, colour not necessary italready looks good. Realistic appearance. The circular shape of the cogs makes it morerealistic.Bad points: Lack of colour in eyes makes them hard todistinguish. 3. Good Points: The circular shapes of the cogs make effective scales. The head is made of clear metal, specifically designed to be a head, rather than cogs. The fins are made out of long thin rods which resemble fins. The jaw was constructed separately to make it look movable and realistic. Conveys a message of recycling to save sea life and other animals.Bad Points: Its in the Sixth Form Study Centre where not that many people can see it. 4. Good Points: Long strong metal rods were used toprovide structure and support as wellas the long, thin parts of the crabsbody. Cogs are still used as the body asthey give a realistic, round effect. The crabs eyes are made ofrounded, bowl shaped discs. Conveys a message of recycling tosave sea life and other animals.Bad Points: Difficult to identify at certain angles.Good Points: 2D is distinguishing. The scaly parts are onceagain formed by cogs forrealism. The protrusions, fins andabdominal muscles areportrayed by rods with aspecially shaped piece ofmetal plating to make therods look rounded off. Another piece of plating isused to form the head withsome shaped rods to formparts of the face. Has a small file ofinformation on thesculpture and its sculptor. Conveys a message ofrecycling to save sea lifeand other animals.Bad Points: The neck could be thinnerbut other than that, no badpoints.
