Mise-en-Scene• In the first shot we see a very bright and happy

colour scheme, only to change very quickly to a darker more boring colour scheme. I feel this suggests how dull real life can be compared to the excitement of what we see in films.

Camera

•A hand held camera is used when we see shots in the ‘documentary’ style. This is to make the documentary style more realistic and believable.

Editing• Relatively fast edits are used to show the characters

lives in quick succession and show the snapshots of the characters lives, as if they’re telling us a story, their lives without the ‘boring’ parts.

Sound• Digetic sounds of the wind during the

‘documentary’ scenes create, again, the idea of a documentary, making it believable and realistic. The sound in the background makes it sound as if it was filmed on a hand held camera and a small amount of time was spent on the editing.
