Junior Course information Juniors must be a minimum of 13 years old. All students aged 13-15 years must be booked on a Junior Course. Lunch and single and return transfers are compulsory. Students aged 16 years old can be booked onto a Junior Course but they will be subject to the same supervision and curfew rules as other juniors. In exceptional circumstances we may accept 17 year olds on junior courses if they are part of junior groups. Any 16-17 year olds who want to change from a junior course to an adult course must have the written permission of their parents and the course change can only be authorised by the School Director.

Junior Course information

EF Cambridge Junior courses

We have junior intakes January- February and

June-August for individuals

Closed groups are welcome year-round.

4th July 2011 – 27 August 2011

We have a separate junior school.

Junior Course information

• A Junior Course consists of 20

lessons per week. These are

timetabled in the morning and

afternoon (No iLabs or SPINS.)

• Accommodation available in homestay twin room or Clare College residence (please see separate residence information on globalnet.)

• Internet access, free access to Efekta ilab and progress tracker.

• Course certificate and EFCELT report.

If juniors don’t want to return to host family or residence immediately they are allowed free time eg to walk to local shops, or play sports with friends.

In summer there is often an EF activity at 5pm such as the social room games or karaoke.

18.00-19.00 Compulsory dinner with host family or at residence

Optional evening activity begins:

Free; Ping pong, badminton, Games, Film Night

£3+ per activity; e.g. Cinema, Salsa, Pizza Hut buffet etc.

Students not on an evening activity are supervised by their host family or residence staff. If students want free time they must ask for permission to go out unsupervised e.g. to see an early film at the cinema, walk to local shops or play sports with friends. They are not allowed to leave the local

area. Parents can forbid a student from going out unsupervised if communicated in writing.

22.00 CURFEW TIME. Students must be back at their Host Family or Residence.

Typical junior schedule

Saturdays

• Attendance of an excursion or activity is compulsory. All students will receive their inclusive London excursion and many students will have pre-booked additional discovery packs. Students with an empty schedule can buy an excursion in the activities office or alternatively join a supervised EF activity in Cambridge.

Sundays

• If students do not have a pre-booked excursion they can buy one in the activities office. Alternatively they can have a free day in Cambridge with their host family or residence supervisor. If students want to go out unsupervised they must ask for permission and give details of where they are going and with whom they are going with.
