COMPONENT I: COMPREHENSIVE NEEDS ASSESSMENT (CNA)

DATA REVIEWED & ANALYZED:

Based on your schools NSPF results, identify what additional data have been reviewed and analyzed in development of the SPP.

School Data For General Education Including FRL English Language Learner (ELL) Data Special Education Data

Nevada School Performance Framework (NSPF) Nevada School Performance Framework (NSPF) Nevada School Performance Framework (NSPF)Teacher/Administrator Observation Data Achievement Gap Data NAFormative Assessments Practice Teacher/Administrator Observation Data NANevada School Performance Framework (NSPF) NA NANA NA NAOther: Other: Other:Other: Other: Other:

Summary Statement: Please provide a brief description for how the analyzed data will impact your Inquiry and Action Planning process. The data from the NSPF, CRT, and WIDA assessment, administrator observations of formative assessment practices (STPT and RTI), STPT agendas, meeting summaries, lesson plans, administrative observations and notes, and school-wide Special Education instruction/procedures, were analyzed to create the School Performance Plan for Robert Lunt Elementary School. The implementation of a more consistent Structured Teacher Planning Time by grade level teams, a more organized and efficient RTI process, as well as targeted Tier 1 instructional practice and more efficient procedures by the SPED team, contributed to an increase in the percent proficient and/or an increase in Median Growth Percentile in Reading/ELA, based on results from the CRT/NSPF. STPT lacks consistent application and accountability across grade levels based on weekly review of STPT agendas and meeting summaries. Tier 1 reading instruction lacks alignment to NVACS based on review of lesson plans and observation and supervision notes.Reading/ELA: Proficient IEP students increased from 18% (2012) to 27% (2013) to 31% (2014).Reading/ELA: Proficient FRL students increased from 34% (2012) to 38% (2013) to 44% in (2014). The MGP increased from 38 (2012) to 45 (2013) to 48 (2014).These practices have shown promising results in ELA, but improvements need to be made in all 3 tiers of instructional practices to reach higher levels of proficiency and growth. Results from the CRT/NSPF reveal an area of concern in math. Proficiency/MGP decreased for the school overall, as well as each subgroup. The percent proficient in Mathematics decreased from 49% (2012) to 48% (2013) to 36% (2014).Results from the ELLP Assessment reveal that 3.2% of ELL students are proficient. Increasing the percentage of proficient students, as measured by the ELLP, will be an area of focus.During the 2015-2016 school year, iReady data was collected for students in the areas of Math and ELA. The percent of students performing at or above level increased by an average of 11% in Math and 15% in ELA. Teachers use student iReady data and common assessment data during STPT to drive instruction.

COMPONENT IV: REQUIRED ELEMENTS FOR TITLE I SCHOOLS:

Title I Schools operating a Schoolwide Program must complete Items 1 through 5 on this page.

1. Describe the school's strategies to attract effective, highly-qualified teachers to your school.Administration reviews applicant highly qualified status via Softsearch, a human resources application process. During the interview process, administration presents prospective teachers with the philosophy and vision of Robert Lunt ES. The Professional Learning Community structure is designed to attract and maintain teachers through continual support for teaching and learning at all levels. Teachers are empowered through the Structured Teacher Planning Time structure to assess student understanding and determine strategies to facilitate increased student learning and achievement.

 2. Describe the school's strategies to increase family engagement in accordance with Section 1118 of NCLB (see resource link), such as family literacy services and the provision to parents on how the school will share academic information in a language they understand.Monthly Parent Institutes, Parent Advisory Group meetings, and Family Academic Nights in all core content areas, the arts, and health/wellness inform parents of ways in which they can support the educational process and learn techniques for assisting with learning at home and in the classroom. Spread the Word Nevada, a partnership to promote literacy, provides books for families through monthly “Breakfast with Books” celebrations. Monthly Wellness Days involve families in fitness, and “Garden University” provides opportunities for families to engage in building and maintaining a community focus of healthy and nutritional lifestyle. All written information and presentations to families and community are provided in both English and Spanish.

 3. Describe the school's plans for transition and articulation between school programs (ie: assisting preschool children from early childhood programs such as Head Start, Even Start, or a state-run preschool program to elementary school, elementary school to middle school, and middle to high school, etc.).Teachers of record for Zoom Pre-Kindergarten, Early Childhood Special Education, and the local ABC school collaborate with Kindergarten teachers to facilitate classroom visits by students prior to entering Kindergarten. The counselor and fifth grade teachers collaborate with middle schools to facilitate registration and campus visits. The counselor arranges magnet school presentations and facilitates application processes, registration, and informational meetings. Continual dialog with feeder schools promotes awareness of program availability within the Performance Zone and facilitates transitions between schools.

 4.
