Prerequisites:

Important Notes:

1. The School has discontinued offering this programme from January 2021 semester onwards. The last intake of this programme was in July 2020 semester.

2. MPW/MPU Courses for Malaysian and Foreign students.

a) All students from the January 2014 intake onwards are required to take MPU courses (and not MPWs).

b) i) Malaysian students prior to January 2014 intake have till the July 2015 semester to complete their MPW courses, failing which they may have to take all MPU courses instead. You are strongly encouraged to take and pass the MPW courses by the year 2015.

ii) Foreign students prior to the January 2014 intake can be exempted from the 9 credits of MPW courses but are required to replace them with any other undergraduate courses in order to fulfill the minimum credits for graduation requirements.

c) Foreign students from the January 2014 intake onwards are required to take MPU3223/03 Decision Making Skills, MPU3143/03 Bahasa Melayu Komunikasi 2 and MPU3173/03 Malaysian Studies 3 as replacement for MPU3213/03 Bahasa Kebangsaan A, MPU3113/03 Hubungan Etnik and MPU3123/03 Tamadun Islam dan Tamadun Asia.

d) MPW courses are not allowed to be taken as equivalent to MPU courses.

3. Students prior to the January 2014 intake have till July 2015 semester to complete the following two University Compulsory courses. You are strongly encouraged to take and pass these courses by the year 2015.

a) WUC202/05 Advanced Writing Skills for University Studies

b) WUC106/05 Communication Skills for the Workplace

3. Students are required to complete a semester project which will form the continuous coursework assessment component of a core major course.

4. The course WUC111/03 Foundation Mathematics which was a foundation (optional) course is now offered as University compulsory course. This change is only applicable to new students from July 2010 intake onwards. Students are eligible for exemption as per conditions set out in the Advanced Standing Announcement.

5. The total credit hours for new students from January 2014 intake onwards is 66 or 68.

6. Students who do not have a credit in Bahasa Malaysia at the SPM level must register for MPU3213/03 Bahasa Kebangsaan A. Those who already have a credit in Bahasa Melayu at the SPM level must register for MPU3223/03 Decision Making Skills.

3. MPU Courses for Malaysian and Foreign students.

a) All students from the January 2014 intake onwards are required to take MPU courses.

b) Foreign students from the January 2014 intake onwards are required to take MPU3223/03 Decision Making Skills, MPU3143/03 Bahasa Melayu Komunikasi 2 and MPU3173/03 Malaysian Studies 3 as replacement for MPU3213/03 Bahasa Kebangsaan A, MPU3113/03 Hubungan Etnik and MPU3123/03 Tamadun Islam dan Tamadun Asia.

4. Students who do not have a credit in Bahasa Malaysia at the SPM level must register for MPU3213/03 Bahasa Kebangsaan A.

Those who already have a credit in Bahasa Melayu at the SPM level must register for MPU3223/03 Decision Making Skills.

5. Students who have passed TCC121/05 Programming Fundamentals with Java in the old programme structures are exempted from TCC128/05 Programming Fundamentals.

6. The programme name has been changed from Bachelor of Technology (Hons) In Computer Systems and Networks (BTSN) to Bachelor of Information Technology (Hons) In Computer Systems and Networks (BITC) effective July 2020 Intake.

1. MPW/MPU Courses for Malaysian and Foreign students.

a) All students from the January 2014 intake onwards are required to take MPU courses (and not MPWs).

b) i) Malaysian students prior to January 2014 intake have till the July 2015 semester to complete their MPW courses, failing which they may have to take all MPU courses instead. You are strongly encouraged to take and pass the MPW courses by the year 2015.

ii) Foreign students prior to the January 2014 intake can be exempted from the 9 credits of MPW courses but are required to replace them with any other undergraduate courses in order to fulfill the minimum credits for graduation requirements.

c) Foreign students from the January 2014 intake onwards are required to take MPU3223/03 Decision Making Skills, MPU3143/03 Bahasa Melayu Komunikasi 2 and MPU3173/03 Malaysian Studies 3 as replacement for MPU3213/03 Bahasa Kebangsaan A, MPU3113/03 Hubungan Etnik and MPU3123/03 Tamadun Islam dan Tamadun Asia.

2. MPW/MPU Courses for Malaysian and Foreign students.

a) All students from the January 2014 intake onwards are required to take MPU courses (and not MPWs).

b) i) Malaysian students prior to January 2014 intake have till the July 2015 semester to complete their MPW courses, failing which they may have to take all MPU courses instead. You are strongly encouraged to take and pass the MPW courses by the year 2015.

ii) Foreign students prior to the January 2014 intake can be exempted from the 9 credits of MPW courses but are required to replace them with any other undergraduate courses in order to fulfill the minimum credits for graduation requirements.

c) Foreign students from the January 2014 intake onwards are required to take MPU3223/03 Decision Making Skills, MPU3143/03 Bahasa Melayu Komunikasi 2 and MPU3173/03 Malaysian Studies 3 as replacement for MPU3213/03 Bahasa Kebangsaan A, MPU3113/03 Hubungan Etnik and MPU3123/03 Tamadun Islam dan Tamadun Asia.

d) MPW courses are not allowed to be taken as equivalent to MPU courses.

3. Students prior to the January 2014 intake have till July 2015 semester to complete the following two University Compulsory courses. You are strongly encouraged to take and pass these courses by the year 2015.

a) WUC202/05 Advanced Writing Skills for University Studies

b) WUC106/05 Communication Skills for the Workplace

4. The course WUC111/03 Foundation Mathematics which was a foundation (optional) course is now offered as University compulsory course. This change is only applicable to new students from July 2010 intake onwards. Students are eligible for exemption as per conditions set out in the Advanced Standing Announcement.

5. The total credit hours for new students from January 2014 intake onwards is 124.

6. TEE103/05 has been removed from this structure. This course will be replaced with TEE206/05 Digital Electronics with effect from January 2014 semester. Students who have taken and passed or exempted for TEE103/05 Logic Circuits and TEE205/05 Digital Design in the old structure are not required to take TEE206/05 Digital Electronics.
