Academy is a PreK-12, fully accredited, college preparatory Christian school. LSA provides an

The High School year is divided into 2 semesters with a traditional 8 periods per day.In the Middle and Lower Schools, the year is divided into four quarters of nine weeks each.

ALL classes using a four point system. Pre-AP and Honors courses earn an additional 25%

(A=5, B=3.75, C=2.5, D=1.25). Class Rank is determined predominately by the GPA of 17 core

courses consisting of Honors, Pre-AP, AP or college classes. This GPA is then adjusted slightly for

additional courses taken.

The spiritual environment at Lutheran South Academy is an essential and natural part of the daily fabric of student life. An atmosphere of sharing life under the Gospel of Jesus is cultivated as student and teachers learn more about faith together.

Lower School Music, Band & Choir (5th grade), Middle School Band & Choir High School Choir, High School Band, Chapel Band Fall Drama & Spring Musical

In PreK-5th grade, it is our goal to provide students with a solid foundation in the basics of the Bible, Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies. Extra opportunities are: Christmas Program, Spring Musical, PSIA Academic Competition, Bible Bowl, Spelling Bee. W.I.N.G.S (Where Imagination and Natural Gifts Soar) is an enrichment program for high performing, creative students (criteria for placement).

Lutheran South Academy Middle School curriculum is designed to meet the needs of all of our

students while preparing them for high school and eventual college acceptance. Several courses are

available for high school credit for qualified students. PSIA Academic Competition, Geography Bee,

Spelling Bee, Bible Bowl, Academic Quest and Duke TIP are some extra academic opportunities

available to our students.

In conjunction with San Jacinto College-South, Lutheran South Academy offers qualified seniors and juniors the opportunity to enroll in college courses that count as dual credit for high school and college.

These courses are taught on our campus by college instructors: GOVT 2305; ENGL 1301; ECON 2301; ENGL 1302; EDUC 1300; HIST 1301;

HIST 1302; PSYC 2301.

ADVANCED PLACEMENT

Advanced Placement courses are offered to qualified sophomores, juniors and seniors in a number of disciplines. Advanced and Pre-AP courses are offered throughout the curriculum to prepare students for

this rigorous course load.

Students take the AP exams in May.

1 to 1 Apple InitiativeLSA Students in grades 6-12 are each issued a Macbook Air laptop to integrate into the classroom and also to use for schoolwork at home. Our 5th grade students have access to their own Macbook Airs in the classroom. The PK3 – 4th grade students have access to a Macbook mini lab as well as 3 iPad carts that are shared amongst the Lower School classes.
