The children spent Tuesday afternoon spruikingtheir stalls; especially the year 6 students who design and manage their own stall each year. All classes have been busy organising their displays, posters and merchandise to sell over the past few weeks. Thank you to all of the TRBPS staff and students who have prepared some very exciting stalls for the mini fete or provided assistance with counting money or showing guests around. Overall it was a great success and I enjoyed chatting with all of the parents, carers and students as they were managing their stalls or just simply wandering around the mini fete to purchase the merchandise on offer. It was an exciting afternoon for everyone involved and what a fantastic way to raise money to support our school programs and activities. The year six students are to be commended for their creativity and initiative in preparing and running their own stalls; working in pairs or small teams to achieve a successful outcome. Thank you to everyone in the school community and wider who donated merchandise. We couldnt have implemented this event without all of your kind support. We hope everyone enjoyed the day and look forward to sharing the amount of funds raised which will further support the school; what a fantastic community effort! It was wonderful to see so many of our new 2017 Prep families roaming around and enjoying the day. Reports and Class Allocaons Teachers have been very busy assessing student learning and writing reports; they are presently completing the final edit amidst the excitement of mini fete preparation. Reports are due to be sent home on December 16. The teachers are currently allocating children to classes. Thank you to all of the parents from whom I have received requests, and as mentioned earlier we will endeavour to attend to the requests in accordance with the criteria mentioned in previous newsletters. Please understand that it is not possible to take on any new requests after the closing date (November 21). We really would like to have classes for 2017 finalised by the start of next week. The staff as a whole have decided on the class structure for 2017 and this model will include 5 classes of 5/6 .This decision was announced and explained at the transition and information evening held last night which was hosted by Rachel Kushnir ( 5/6 Team Leader). The meeting was held in the SOL centre and parents/carers were informed of the general expectations across the year level and how this 5/6 unit would function in 2017. Rachel explained the homework expectations and operations of this area and touched on aspects of the curriculum. There will be another Information Evening to explain more about the curriculum, camps and special events for each of the year levels early 2017. The reasons for the decision to have 5 classes of 5/6 was not made lightly and staff were diligent in considering all of the social, emotional and educational needs of the current year 4 and 5 children. All of the staff were consulted in this decision making process and it was also explained at the School Council meeting last week and the decision was very well supported by the councillors; many who have children moving into the year 5 and 6 level. The reasons expressed by staff for this model decision were extremely valid. The following class structure for 2017 will be: Student Numbers, Staffing and Class Structure for 2017 We will have approximately 629 students and there will be 26 classes in total across the school as well as 4 specialist areas (Visual Art, Music Performing Arts, PE and LOTE – Italian). More information in relation to the staff that will be teaching in each year level will be announced in the next newsletter. We are currently interviewing for new staff as we say goodbye to a few of the current staff who are broadening their horizons by embracing opportunities for professional growth at other schools. We congratulate Ms Kelly Coyle who was the successful applicant at Lysterfield Primary School, Mr Simon Brown who was the successful applicant at Hughesdale Primary School and Mr James Ireson who was the successful applicant at Chelsea Heights PS. On behalf of TRBPS community I wish to thank them all for their excellent contributions to the school and wish them all the very best success and happiness as they take up their new position for 2017. Mr James Borghero is taking one year of leave for professional study. We hope James enjoys his year of study and we look forward to him returning in 2018.

School Sport Victoria - Region Girls Cricket.

Congratulations to the Tucker Rd hardball girls cricket team who are Region Champions for 2016. Playing in the final against Bentleigh West Primary we batted first scoring 109 runs (Megan Medland top scoring with

21no). On coming in to bowl Elly Krinelos took a wicket with the first ball of the innings, setting the scene for a dominant fielding performance restricting Bentleigh West to only 56. All girls had the opportunity to bat and bowl and it

was a fun day for everyone involved.

Many thanks to Kate Hartwig for her excellent Captaining of the team, to Michael Heenan for umpiring and to Bentleigh ANA cricket club for opening their club rooms for all the girls.
